I've also got one of these, imported one from America at the tail end of last year. Don't probably get that much use out of it but I can vouch for it being a good system. The worst point is that the wireless controller is rubbish but as has been said, you can plug in a wired controller and use it across platforms.

I never had a mega drive so as well as being able to play all my old Nintendo games its given me access to some old Mega Drive games. Although thus far I've only got the first two Sonic games.

The graphics filter options on the system are really good as you can add scan lines and keep the original resolution so its about as faithful to plugging in a console to a CRT as you're likely to get. Or you can make it widescreen and add filters that smooth out the pixels which give the games a more modern appearance.

If you have a decent sized collection of older games and want an easy way to play them I'd definitely suggest picking one of these up.

My only regret at owning a Master System 1 is that it means I'll never need to own a Power Base converter and thus will be denied the majesty of the Full Stack.

Also, how the strawberry float did SEGA manage to design something as pretty as the Power Base Convertor and then go on to put the 32X in such a misshapen lump? Especially given how snazzy the Neptune looked?

Just picked up Mega Drive copies of Robocod and Cannon Fodder from the retro stall in town  . Got Master System Sonic one too. Just need the power base convertor from eBay to turn up now.

the Master System version of Rastan is pretty damn good if you find that.

edit: Shinobi is a stone cold classic for the system too.

Cool I'll look out for it. Only got Sonic 1 and Spiderman so far.. trying to remember what other games I used to have on it. Remember spending hours on Asterisk and California Games. Think I also had the quite terrible Back To The Future 2 game.. think I even finished it :fp:

Regarding the contoller on this, I'm finding it fine on some games and terrible on others. For slower stuff like World Of Illusion and Cannon Fodder it's great. Things like Sonic though it's terrible. Often roll by mistake due to the weird jojoystick pad thing. Micro Machines 2 doesn't suit it we'll either. I'd say it's fine on more games than its not so far but if get one deffo want to have some original controllers on standby for some games I think.
