Was just wondering if any of you ever played this, since i think its the most addictive ninja game i have ever played ( i still need to play ninja gaiden 2).

if so, did anyone ever complete the labyrinth level without the use of a map ( the level just before the big boss)

Try speeding this game up on an emu for possibly one of the hardest things ever. I mean surviving for more than 10 seconds is a feat alone, and even that would be considered a fluke most the time.

Nope. Had to get the map in.

I love the music to this game. I have this:

as my ring tone. Love it.

Amazing game, though I've never gotten that far in it. I can't recommend the sequel enough either, Shinobi III is one of the finest 2D action games ever made!

the music is by Yuzo Koshiro, he did the music for golden axe and shenmue 2 as well, his amazing. the music from shinobi actually kind of helped me get into hard rock/metal, bit weird. you should read his wiki page, he does so much cool stuff here and there and does live DJ'ing where he plays all his game music!

shinobi 3 has so many features and seirously pretty impressive graphics and sound for a game on the mega drive. but shinobi 1 will always be my favorite, just because it was my childhood game.

my favorite song: (i used to listen to this on repeat for hours, then years later when i got the game on an emulator, i replayed the song for hours)

Awesome game. I remember buying RoS, Populous & Budokan on the same day. I was a happy chap for weeks.

Completed RoS pretty quickly.

I had skill back then

I had the same cart, and it would probably be my least favourite as well. I still enjoyed it, although I could never get very far.

I could only ever finish this with infinite Shuriken switched on, and even then I failed to save the Missus.

I always used the infinite Shuriken cheat. It didn't quite feel like Shinobi to me otherwise.

I originally had the version with rambo and the godzilla-like creature but i sold it. If i remember correctly the later version i got (I think it was the 3in1 cart) replaced those characters.

Never really got on with the shinobi games they should've made them 2-player.

The third game is a corker too they added running, wall jumping and extra attacks (dropkick, sword lunge when running).

I really think you seek it out, it's great!

the 3rd game really is really fun, and seriously advanced for a 16bit game..

i never used to use the infinite shuriken cheat because i didnt know it in the early days, but i do, whenever i play it now, i completed it again last week, its really fun. bloody annoying the controllers for the mega drive are really unresponsive though.
