Eighties pop singer Rick Astley has become the surprise contender for best act ever at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool.

As he is up against U2, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Green Day and Tokio Hotel, I think he stands a god chance of winning without any cheating anyway!

Hopefully the impending win and live performance will revitalise his career and lead to a re-release of Never Gonna Give You Up, and RickMania will once again resume.
