Because the androids would've mutinied the mission and gone off to explore space on their own because they don't care about humans and dream of electric sheep.

Do they though? That's the question...

Just watched all the extras and deleted scenes. Its cool that you get to see more of that Alien but overall it adds nothing to the film. no new explanations etc :/

So will the director's cut add something or is this as good as it will get?

The director's cut will probably address a few of the issues of the theatrical cut.

Scott is always at it with his films. Get it right for the cinema you dick. :fp:

The director's cut will be great, just look at what it did for Kingdom of Heaven

I dunno if a director's cut will add much to the film storywise, if its just going to be taken from the extra scenes included in the home release.

Watched this for the first time last night and I thought it was brilliant. I loved every minute.

Ridley Scott Refused to Do an Extended Cut for Prometheus Blu-ray

Fox wanted an extended edition of the film. However, Scott refused because the theatrical version is his “Director’s Cut”

Which is bollocks of course. He'll do it at a time of his choosing. Not straight away.

Watched it for the first time last night and was immediately impressed by the opening scene (reminded me of the videos for Schism and Parabola by Tool), the whole film is superbly done.

Easily one of the best Sci-fi films in years.

Glad to see the Prometheus love in here. It really is just a fantastic Sci-Fi film, regardless of its connections to the Alien franchise.

Btw what special features are on the extra disk that comes with the steelbook? It doesn't actually have a thing with it to say.

Really enjoyed it but could never figure out why...

David infected holloway, what was his aim, did he know what would happen. Throughout the film he acts independently and goes a bit rogue doing things that endanger the crew with seemingly no explanation.

Otherwise a great film, the set design, special effects and atmosphere are top notch. Only negative is they tried a little too hard towards the end to shoe horn in the set up for alien. It stands on its own, didn't need to try so hard to twist story for continuity issues.

Not really shoehorning for a set up to Alien though seeing as it's set on a different moon to LV-426.

Maf didn't you open your Steelbook? There's a making of, screen tests, trailers, time-lapse making the Juggernaut ship + more.

If i buy the Blu Ray. Not the 3D one - exactly what am i missing out on. The making of stuff is nice but it's the alternate/deleted scenes i'm interested in.

The Deleted/Alternate scenes are actually on the movie disc along with the Weyland files. I'll pop the special features disc on tonight when I get home and list exactly whats on it.
