I think the only majorly different alternate scene is the mutated Fifield looking much more like an Alien with an elongated head when he comes back and attacks the crew.

I was reading about one of the previous scripts the other day. There were much more references to the Alien films but the studio wanted a lot of them toned down so the film could basically be it's own thing rather than being to closely connected to the other films. Stuff like the black goo capsules being actual alien eggs, Xenomorphs being present and Holloway being infected by a face hugger and it bursting out when him and Shaw have sex.

It really grates on me like a cheese grater when this gooseberry fool happens. So to get the best version of the film I'd have to buy a fricking blu ray to get all those juicy extras

DVDs have a limited capacity thats why the blu ray versions have extra.

Watched this last night. Very average. What was that tosh about 36 hours? Or are the days longer or something?
Anyway, It looked like a slightly improved episode of Blake's 7.
Is that Alien that came out of the engineer at the end the only link to the alien movies? Time to wrap up. 6/10

Actually it's mentioned somewhere on the Blu Ray that David knows about the distress signal emitting from LV-426. Another nod would be the medical pods purge screen being the same as the Nostromo's computer screens. I'm sure there are more but I've yet to actually watch the Blu Ray :fp:

I'm really not sure about buying this.

I kinda like it, but it pissed me off sooo much I don't think I really want it.

Might just rent it first.

If he did - he'd know it's a warning not a distress signal.

Also if the Engineers are manufacturing BW - why are they sending the signal at all?

In one of the deleted scenes he mentions that he used to be in the military and the situation they see play in the holograms with the engineers running away from something reminds him of a quarantine accident he saw whilst on an operation.

If ever a film was crying out to be re edited.
