i think someone else said about kingdom of heaven, a good film was turned into pretty much a masterpiece imo due to the directors cut.

I own that film like 5 times over :fp:

Watched it again the other night with friends i saw it with on Imax. I enjoyed it.
The continuity issues and plot points stop it from being a quailty film. There's a lot of it to love, though.

In one of the deleted scenes he mentions that he used to be in the military and the situation they see play in the holograms with the engineers runnin gaway from something reminds him of a quarantine accident he saw whilst on an operation.

Didn't he leave the ship to help look for the two guys who had to spend the night in the facilaty? And as for those guys for leading scientists/explorers they were so stupid.Yeah just get lost and then talk to a hostile aliens like they're puppys. :?

Fair play to Vickers for flame grilling that prick! Hated the way she died I reckon she could be still alive within the ship and ends up giving birth to the first queen alien :shifty:

Watched this on bluray last night, DAT IMAGE QUALITY :datass: So much better than watching it in shitty dark fuzzy 3D.

Some of the deleted scenes were better than the included ones I thought.

Lindelof's screenplay has now popped up online. To say it's abysmal is an understatement. It reads like a 12 year old wrote it after eating 50 packets of Skittles: http://collider.com/wp-content/uploads/ ... Efinal.pdf

Yep. And while not brilliant, it's much better than Lindelof's.

That's an interesting take. Nonsensical but interesting.

This film is terrible. The first Alien is a horror built around space rape and a gender reversal, Aliens is about motherhood, Alien 3 I can't really remember. This is about Christianity and nothing else, using just about the laziest philosophical themes there are; what if God was an alien and the difficult conflicts of a religious scientist.

The set up itself is okay but that's not anything to be commended. So much just seemed odd. Like the Engineers having human DNA. Or the bizarre change in tone from Shaw ripping a squid out her womb to meeting Weyland. Or why Vickers bought a state of the art surgery kiosk designed for blokes. Or what is up with all these different human civilisations knowing where the Engineers'; weapons facility is. Or the pointless xenomorph at the end.

The dialogue and script are jaw droppingly abysmal at times. Vickers' father revelation line and Shaw blurting out her infertility were the highlights. Nobody acted particularly well, Fassbender was good but then I can't remember the last time I've seen someone play an android unconvincingly.

Exceptionally disappointing and worthless installment of a franchise that should be left alone if this is the best anyone can come up with. Nowhere near as gooseberry fool as the AvP series but I'd argue at least as cynical a cash in on past triumphs. Ridley Scott is a hack.
