Good spot, dude - although that is a pre-order price and only stands until 11:00 in the U.K.

Good job you pointed that out! I was going to leisurely buy it some time later today. Just jumped right on it. Cheers.

No release date had been announced for the Switch version yet, Eighthours, and Destructoid is reporting that it'll stick to 720p in both portable and docked mode.

The physical version will cost that price, but the digital download version will be £30 as with the PS4. To make up for the increased cost of the Switch physical version, the publisher is including a download of the game soundtrack...

Anyone else playing this?

It's pretty damn wonderful so far. Comparisons with Ico are inevitable, and not unfair, and the style seems very influenced by The Witness, which is no bad thing.

There's nothing too challenging so far, and I'm wary of racing through it too quickly. Unfortunately there seems to be nothing to indicate how far there is to go. At the moment I'm at the stage of not wanting it to ever end.

It's beautiful, isn't it? I'm only about two hours in. Taking my time, soaking up the first environment. I've found a few secrets here and there thanks to how much the game makes me want to explore and appreciate the world.

Its a wonderful game, not to spoil anything but I've just got to the second area, not sure how long its taken me but it can't have been more than an hour. I'll go back and explore later, so far the game is so well paced that staying and exploring every last corner of the world doesn't seem the right way to be playing the game for me.

Just finished it.
The ending. Jesus, the ending.
I'll have to spoiler stuff. Don't read at all if you're currently playing or are thinking of buying (which you strawberry floating must, by the way)
I won't lie. I cried. When you understand that the fox who's been helping you is your childhood toy. That's what got me. No way I'd have blubbed if I didn't have a son though. Suddenly chucking you into controlling the father visiting the boy's bedroom was heart-wrenching.

What an incredible game.
Please buy it. Support devs that create games like this. But if you do, turn Trophy/ Achievement notification off, as I predicted what was happening thanks to the Trophy title for finishing the first world. The ending still had a massive impact, but you will be more affected by receiving no hints at all.

I don't know, I'm not at the end but stuff in the world has clued me in to what's happening (I think) more than the trophies.

Yeah - me too. But it might have taken a bit more brain power for me if the very first trophy I got
wasn't called 'Denial' and hadn't popped up at the end of World 1. I thought "Why call it that? It's such a beautiful place, that island. Oh. He's dead."

After that, it was more a case of finding things that supported my theory, rather than slowly coming to the realisation.

I love this game, please just buy and play this. I originally wanted the Switch physical version but having £10 in my Microsoft Account made me cave and get it on Xbox.

The swimming reminds me of that old bank advert were the boy dives for the pearls

Yeah its a brilliant game.

Initially thought I'd play it as it came, but I've ended up looking around the world as much as possible because its all so very pretty.

I don't think there's going to be a better game than Zelda this year...but if it wasn't for Zelda this would probably be the game of the year so far.

About an hour and a half into this and it's just amazing so far. It's bringing back memories of my playthough of Journey & ICO. I'm in love with it so far. The graphics are stunning and OMG the music. The world is just beautiful.

Shame about the performance problems, though, on XB1 at least. Definitely chugging at points.

Is this actually any good then? OPM gave it a 6 this month and said it was a bit too clever for its own good.

I finished this today. :( Wow. What an incredible game. All it needed was a snow level a and it would be a 10/10
The ending really got to me. I have trophies/achievements turned off by default do I didn't really see it coming but I had a fair idea. Then when it dawns on you what's going on its such a powerful moment.

Looking at the achievement titles now I'm wondering what the strawberry float they were thinking giving away the plot like that. Imagine learning about the story from little pop up boxes in the corner of the screen at the end of every chapter instead of discovering it naturally in-game as you play. :dread:.

However, DO go to the chapter select screen and look at the titles of each in relation to the theme of that chapter and the ending is even more affecting.

Probably my second favourite game of the year after Zelda. Loved every second of it.

I'm going to give it a solid 7.5-8/10.

I wasn't blown away by it at all and for me it just felt like a good indie platformer. It has some clever ideas, but I just felt it never had any "wow" moments. If you like stuff like Ico and Journey I'd say it's definitely worth playing, I'm glad I did. Stand out element of the game for me was the score, which was absolutely fantastic.

Its like you played a completely different game to me. It was full of wow moments, without mentioning anything about the story other than that its very special, the environments especially the 1st and 4th areas are full of wow moments, from the lighting to the stark contrast of the buildings, when it first gets dark, some pretty special camera pans coupled with the outstanding score.

Literally like you played a different game.

There were plenty of moments I felt were really good. Plenty of vistas and areas that I thought were lovely and one or two that were quite special, but I just never got that "wow" feeling myself. I'm not putting the game down, like I said before if someone is a fan of something like ICO and Journey (Maybe Last Guardian as well, though I've not played it) then dive in and they'll really enjoy it.

But then I can be an emotionless husk sometimes so that might be what it was.
