I turned on the cycling earlier and there were TONS of people just running next to the cyclists, nice security Brazil.

Them hosting the Olympics isn't exactly doing them any favours is it?

Yeah that was bloody ridiculous really. You could see the cyclists getting pissed off with it.

Did anyone see the French gymnast snap his leg

What a newb.

I love how he looks to be more disappointed that he broke his leg, rather than being in pain.

The Tour De France is exactly the same, it's sort of traditional.

Froome was never gonna win the road race, can't believe he was touted to win it by our media.
He should nail the time trial though

What's wrong with her? She's a good host for this, I think. She's passionate about the lot, very knowledgeable, presents well. Who else would you pick?

It feels as if the only posts Lotus has made in here since the games started have been about Claire Balding or to gooseberry fool on women's events.

Been watching a lot of the archery, finding it strangely mesmerising. Doesn't really strike me as a spectator sport, but it's pretty engaging. Handball seems pretty wank though. Gymnastics was mildly entertaining, thankfully I missed the leg break. :dread:

I have no idea why he was selected for the road race....he should have just concentrated on the TT. That race yesterday would have done him zero favours.

I'm glad I missed it too, but it's all over Facebook so I have seen it :dread:.

The absurdly young looking female Chinese gymnasts freak me out. I dread to think what they've been put through during their lives.

Great work by the French women running in a try against the Kiwis in the rugby 7s.

Anyone watching the tennis? Brown (Ger) just injured his foot stepping badly, but looks set to continue the match against Bellucci (Bra).

I've been very uncomfortable watching this. I can understand the Brazilians supporting their guy, but constantly booing the German is outrageous and disgraceful.

Edit - Brown tried to play on, but couldn't continue with his injury. He cried as he exited the court :-( He was one set up!

Not sure how I'll feel if Lizzy Armistead wins this road race. I know she was cleared, but once your name has been dragged through the mud like that I just tend to fall into the 'there's no smoke without fire' line of thinking and would feel a bit uncomfortable really cheering her across the line.
