From the 2015 DF analysis -

Rise of the Tomb Raider operates primarily at 1920x1080 with post-process anti-aliasing in effect. During cut-scenes this is knocked down to 1440x1080.

DF comparison seemed mostly positive, no? Biggest issue being latency.

Yes, plus a few minor graphical improvements that Monkeyman didn't include in his summary.

Monkeyman made that DF video of course. It's a lush game, it's a good port isn't it? People expect 60fps??!

Nah, I'm out. The fact it plays identically on a different console would completely ruin the experience for me.

I wasn't talking about the video, but the summary Monkeyman wrote after.

Only thing letting it down is the aiming dead zone holding back the excellent combat.

I agree with you when compared to Uncharted 1-3 but is a pretty close run thing with 4. RotTR is the first game I've ever gotten 100% of the collectables but at the same time I can't remember a single character other than Lara.

So gave this a bash over the weekend - the intro isn't as effective as TR, but the game is visually stunning in places.

The mix of spectacle, story, "on rails" exploration, puzzles and combat is as strong as ever.

Not sure I'm liking all the different crafting materials - previously "salvage" was a nice catch all.

I was a bit worried after 30min when Lara hadn't killed anyone, but she's back to murdering everything she sees now

Including some poor defenseless blind guy!

I was reading through the GAF thread for this and lots of people seem to mention issues with input lag and aiming. Have any of you encountered problems like this and do they ruin the game? I want to pick up the PS4 version

From the DF analysis this seemed to be for just on-line play and is the same on the XBO. I think they said it is OK on the 360 and PC so maybe you get one of those versions if you want on-line play.

But he had loot!

Also he dies in the explosion you make to escape the building ;)

DF didn't mention any online play in there analysis at all, and why should they? considering just 1 piece of DLC is online. They said it's just in both versions. Having finished the game I can't say I noticed it at all.

However, we were a little disappointed to see that input lag on aiming still appears to be an issue on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, just as it was in the original Xbox One release. We originally thought that Nixxes had fixed this as part of its porting process - it's not an issue at all on the PC and Xbox 360 versions - but the same developer also handled this new PS4 game. Aiming weapons feels significantly heavier and less responsive, and while you do adjust to the additional latency, it just doesn't feel right - in stark contrast to Nixxes' other ports.

It was really noticeable when I played the XB1 version. Didn't ruin the game or anything but it was quite annoying, especially during combat.
