WE’RE EXPANDING YOUR QUICK CHAT OPTIONS

Nice Shot! What a Save! Close One!

“Quick Chats” like those have been an essential part of Rocket League since we first launched and based on our community’s frequent recommendations, we’re increasing that functionality with 27 new Quick Chats in our massive June update.

Starting next month, you’ll be able to head into the “Chat” menu, located in the “Options” section, where you can remap new phrases with relative ease. Pre-select your choice from a much wider range than ever before, including player favorites like, “My bad, In Position, Siiiick!,” and “Need Boost!”

Image

New In-Game Quick Chats:

All yours.
Calculated.
Go for it!
Great Clear!
Holy cow!
In position.
Incoming!
My bad…
My fault.
Need Boost!
Nice Block!
Nice one!
No Way!
Okay.
Oops!
Savage!
Siiiick!
What a play!
Whew.
Say “GG” with Post-Game Quick Chats

In addition to the mappable “Quick Chats” that are filtered by categories, “Information, Compliments, Reactions,” and “Apologies,” we’ve also added eight new post-game phrases like “gg, well played, One. More. Game,” and “That was fun!,” mapped to the Information (Team) Quick Chats once the match is over.

Post-Game Quick Chats:

Everybody dance!
gg
Nice moves.
One. More. Game.
Rematch!
That was fun!
Well played.
What a Game!

Our Quick Chat info isn’t all that’s happening in our June update, either! Starting this week and throughout the month of June, we’ll be previewing multiple items on our official blog. Stay tuned for more via @RocketLeague or Facebook.

CELEBRATE WITH POST-GAME SPOTLIGHTS IN JUNE

Rocket League matches often go down to the wire and whether your team pulls off a stunning upset or stomps the competition, you deserve all the post-match excitement you can get — which is why we plan on providing even more opportunities for players to express themselves.

Starting with the June update, you’ll be able to jump, boost, and spin your Battle-Car on the “Post-Game Spotlights” screen. Check out this preview GIF to see how it works!

Image

Stats for the Win

As you might have guessed from the imagery, we’ll be tracking specific stats associated with each member of the winning team and assign titles for your performance in that particular match. For example, if you boxed out a lot of Battle-Cars in Hoops mode, the total number of cars bumped stat could be your most prominent, giving you the intimidating “Enforcer” title. Alternatively, if you set up a lot of shots for teammates by centering the ball, you can nab the “Tactician” title on the Post-Game Spotlight screen.

If you’re curious, here’s are just a few of the 20+ titles and their associated stats:

Aggressor – Most First Touches
Benchwarmer – Fewest Ball Hits
Prodigy – Score 3 or more goals
Speed Demon – Most Boost Pickups
Traitor – Score an own goal
Warden – Make 3 or more saves

Spin around, jump for joy, or just celebrate your victory — it’s all about savoring the moment with your fellow Rocketeers!

All sounding great! Still playing this game a reasonable amount. Introduced a couple of mates to it last week who went from being pessimistic as I loaded it up and told them about it, to being totally obsessed with it for the next few hours amongst lots of swearing and laughing. Pretty sure this game's impossible not to like.

ROCKET LEAGUE CROSS-NETWORK PLAY ARRIVES ON XBOX ONE AND STEAM PC

Psyonix Celebrates an Historic Moment in Multiplayer Gaming

SAN DIEGO, CA – May 24, 2016 – Independent videogame developer and publisher, Psyonix, announced today that the sports-action hit, Rocket League™, now supports cross-network play between the Xbox One and Steam PC versions, making it the first-ever Xbox One game to do so. Nearly 2 million Xbox One players have competed in Rocket League™ since its launch in February 2016, but starting today, that pool of teammates and opponents grows even larger.

With this new addition, players can now easily include (or not include) cross-network rivals in both public and private matches, thanks to an easy-to-find toggle check box in the Options menu.

"We're really excited to bring Xbox One and PC players closer together," said Jeremy Dunham, Vice President, Psyonix. "Cross-network play has been something that Xbox One gamers have been asking us for since the day we launched, and thanks to Microsoft's new cross-network policies, we're proud to give it to them."

Xbox One and Steam PC cross-network compatibility is scheduled to release worldwide starting 11pm BST.

It's bad enough when I get sarky comments from people when I score an own goal by accident. Now I will have teenagers call me a twat over live.

INTRODUCING PAINTED AND CERTIFIED ITEMS

We wanted to share some cool new item features that we’re releasing as part of our upcoming June update — Item Attributes!

Expanding our existing online item drop pool, the Item Attribute system adds special properties that can be discovered (rarely) when you receive an online item drop.

Painted Items

Our first item attribute, “Painted,” recolors an item with entirely-new pigments, and we’ll kick off our first release with Painted Wheels and Toppers. If you’re lucky enough to discover a Painted version of an item, its color will be randomly chosen from a set of named colors like “Titanium White” and “Burnt Sienna.”

Not every Wheel or Topper will generate a Painted version, of course, but we hope you’ll enjoy collecting these colorful new items nonetheless!

Certified Items

Our second item attribute, “Certified,” makes an item track a particular statistic while you play in online matches. Certified Items come with a special prefix that indicates the stat they track. That prefix increases in prestige as you earn more and more of that stat with the item equipped.

For example, if I discover a “Sniper Wizard Hat,” I’ve acquired a special version of the “Wizard Hat” Topper that tracks “Long Goals.” Every time I score a Long Goal in an online match, the hat’s stat counter will increase by one. When I reach fifty Long Goals with that hat equipped, it becomes a “Skillful Sniper Wizard Hat,” and after many more, an “Incredible Sniper Wizard Hat,” and so on.

Each tracked statistic has its own set of prefixes that we’ll leave for you to discover. Stats use different thresholds for when their prefix changes based on difficulty. For instance, you’ll need to earn a lot more “Clears” than “Upside Down Goals” to reach the same tier of prefix.

Certified Items only track stats in online Casual and Competitive games. Private Matches and offline/exhibition games do not count.

But Painted and Certified Items are just the beginning. Next week, we’ll return with even more details regarding our Item system that will expand things quite a bit. See you then!

Mark your calendars for June 20th, everyone! That's the day that the cyberpunk dystopia, Neo Tokyo, comes to Rocket League®! Originally released as part of the "Rocket Labs" experimental Playlist, Neo Tokyo is a re-imagined version of the celebrated multi-tiered stadium, "Underpass," with streamlined gameplay improvements and a beautiful, highly-detailed environment. Then, on July 18, two Neo Tokyo-inspired premium cars -- Esper and Masamune -- bring their distinctive anime style to Rocket League®'s ever-growing collection of playable vehicles!

NOTE: Both premium cars will be included as a timed exclusive in the Rocket League® Collection's Edition, on sale at retail stores worldwide on June 24 in Europe and July 5 in North America.

I play a lot. I've been placed into Prospect for all but 1v1 for this new season and I'm really struggling

Would anyone like to have a go at tearing up the 2v2 league with me?

Started to play this a lot with my housemates, it's great fun!

Thought I was getting good at it then saw videos online... I don't even know how they do half of the stuff they do.

So good playing with reliable people. My bad on that last one; just didn't get up early enough for the block :fp:.

Any tips? I felt like I was getting in Crimson's way a lot of the time (sorry about that)!

Definitely up for more games soon. :D
