Well played, Jenuall! When I created the Rocket League Tuesday session, one of my goals was to make sure that everyone was welcome to play, regardless of skill level. The aim is to have fun playing and to enjoy the chat. Sure, we have a range of abilities but - for this session - that shouldn't really matter.

Last night I was majorly pissed off, though. I've slept on the incident but I'm gonna call it out here. Unfortunately, one person (and I'm not to going to specifically name him in this post) was, in my view, out of order in verbally slating the abilities of other players; and not in a "funny" way but in a really unwelcome way. Worse, I subsequently saw that this unwelcome criticism was also posted on someone's live stream of the session.

It's an awkward situation because the person isn't a GRcade member and I know that some GRcade folk are friends with the person; indeed, I normally think of the person as being pretty decent. Of course, I want to avoid any conflict being instigated but I will have to say something to the person in order to try and avoid any repeat of the unwanted behaviour.

Tl;dr Everyone is welcome to play at this particular Rocket League session, regardless of ability. If folk don't like this approach then maybe it isn't the right session for you.

Cheers Jawa. Yeah I saw you drop off not long after I joined - I had detected a degree of tension in the air so to speak.

For what it's worth I've always found both this and the MK8 sessions to be very welcoming, as you say people differ in skill but that doesn't mean we can't still all enjoy ourselves!

Haha, just watched back over the stream above and read some of the comments in the chat

I get that it may be frustrating playing with noobs if you're used to something else, but as Jawa says - just find a another place to play in that case!

How often do you stream?

Very inconsistently! Was streaming quite a lot a while back but have fallen off it recently. I stream the Rocket League nights if Pedz isn't about, otherwise he usually streams

Nice, I've thought about streaming a few times but I just don't get enough time to even play games at the moment let alone stream them!

Going to put a bit of time into some of the training stuff in Rocket League over the next few days - see if I can improve my skills!

I'm a little distracted as I'm watching SGDQ at the same time as playing Rocket League, but I'm game for a few matches tonight if anyone else is!

Yeah, this sounds like a good approach, Jazzem. It's great to have a regular session in diary as it makes it more likely that folk will turn up; these Rocket sessions were quite popular originally but fell away over the past summer.

I guess that, as with how we ran the sessions, Paul is happy for a mix of player abilities to take part?

Jazzem, I like the idea of getting the session going again but would you mind if I don't join tonight? I have a bit of a cold and am not really up for the chaos of Rocket this time around! I will try and take part in future weeks, though.

Paul from Nintendo South Wales here, pleased to meet you. In an effort to kick-start NSW's online events, heed calls from our members, and to from what i hear, help bolster GRcade's Rocket League Tuesday get-togethers, i ask if you'd be open to a weekly joint-event of sorts.

We have no desire to change anything about how Rocket League Tuesdays are organised or the spirit in which they're run. We simply propose something mutually beneficial that should bring fans from our respective communities together and in the process create a stronger contingent of regular players.

On our end, we'd post a recurring event on our Facebook page each week with info on how to join the room and that's it.

Hey, Paul - welcome to GRcade!

I likes this idea for Rocket League Tuesdays. We used to have quite a crowd of GRcadians join but, over the past few months, the numbers have dipped. It sounds positive for us all to join up and just enjoy playing Rocket League!

The only "rules" we have are that (a) everyone is welcome, and (b) we don't moan about how good/bad other players are (barring banter, of course!). I propose that we accept this team-up initiative with the Nintendo South Wales group :-).

Ah, I completely forgot it was Rocket League Tuesday. I'm hoping to get back into this a bit more regularly now that summer time is over, teaming up with NSW sounds like a good plan to get numbers on the up again!

So anyone want to play tonight at 9:00?
