I heard that the main bad guy (Garth Hayder) not only survives this movie but actually has a son and daughter who (after sexy incest times) eventually team up to destroy him.

Because it is part of the Spanish advertising for the movie?

I imagine this is going to be a huge success, How long before a sequel is announced do you think?

They must be confident, the movie ends on a massive cliffhanger as the rebels steal the plans for the space station weapon but we don't get to see if they manage to deal with it.

I hate it when films and TV shows film cliffhanger endings before they know if they have been green lit for a sequel. don't want to get invested in a story if there's not going to be a resolution.

What are they? I personally loved it, especially the ending.

Seen it. A few issues.

CGI Tarkin is a bit poor. It's very obvious.

It's supposed to be in a time where people think the Force is a myth but there seems to be a lot of believers.

Star Destoryers seem to be easily pushed around.

Darth Vader stole the entire film. And that final scenes is so bad ass.

Loved it, can only fault the CGI on Tarkin really. With Leia It worked because it was so brief but with Tarkin they really should have just used a different character. Serious case of uncanny valley.

Otherwise: THAT strawberry floating VADER SCENE OH MY GOD :datass: :datass: :datass:

Aye, I absolutely love that scene. Pitch black. Rebel soldiers turn around in fear... *lightsaber activates* DARTH VADER.

Also there's a wee continunity issue. The damn ship got away in front of Vader. The same ship that Leia is supposed to be on a diplomatic mission as said by her in A New Hope. Would make sense if that ship beam out the transmission to another ship.

Ah well.

The ending was boss, It was everything that I wanted Vader to be.
Loved seeing 3PO & R2 and had a massive grin on my face when Bail Organa was talking about Obi Wan.
X Wings are and always will be a major plus for me.

Hated the Banter Bus pulling up When Vader was talking with Krennic on Mustafar though.
Obviously the CGI was an issue for me, Leia not so much because her scene was short. But Tarkin just reminded me of Dobby from the HP movies.
Didn't think much of the score either which was a major disappointment

Now I know what that nagging feeling I've had when I first saw Tarkin last night and wonder where else I've seen that before.

I loved the little moment when Riz Ahmed's character hears Saw's respirator and winces because it sounds like Vader's. Excellent little touch

Only issues I had with it was:

Some of the dialogue was delivered quite poorly.

It was a little too heavy on the nods to The other movies. Characters using dialogue that was an almost direct copy of stuff they said in other movies.

CGI Tarkin was just too uncanny Valley.

But these are fairly minor quibbles. Otherwise I really liked it.

I like how they filmed a lot of it handheld so it has a different feel from the others. Combined with the lack of an opening crawl, the location names appearing on screen and certain angles they chose it was nicely distinct.

That Vader scene was awesome.

Was really disappointed by this :(

Basically the same problem as the director's Godzilla film; solid action filmmaking wasted because I couldn't get invested in the characters at all. There's too many of them and none of them leave a lasting impression, save maybe the droid.

That's not to say it's without merit; the attention to detail for Ep4 era is astonishing, and is reassuring that any other films they do for that time period will feel authentic.

But yeah...just found it dull and unengaging for the most part. Goddammit :(

I really liked the movie.

I thought it started off slow, but kept getting better and better. Tarkin looked great at first, but he had too much screen time for a CGI human character, and you quickly noticed the flaws. His movement was jerky, which there's no excuse for. They should have just used his first and last scenes.

K-2S0 was the stand out character.

I thought there was something strange about the neck of Vader's mask. It looked much wider than I remember. My daughter noticed this too.

Well I loved it. Amazing little movie. The detail was astonishing and as someone who isn't a massive star wars fan I still got a lot of the references.

The pacing and flow of the story was exceptional and self contained. It really builds over the course of the movie. I loved the secondary characters like the little monkey guy with the gun. Would love a toy of him for my shelf.

Mads was perfect but always is.

Vader was brilliant but I didn't need his middle scene where he force chocked the guy as his ending scene was enough.

Really pleased they went with a brave ending as they could have easily gone for a happier one.

The 2 CGI re do characters were ok. But not perfect.

But I really loved it and personally it's up there with the best of Star Wars for me. The final battle was so well filmed and actually had consequences and dread.

Wish my image sig would work
