PostRosetta Stone - PowerIso/Daemon Tools mounting help!
by BTB » Mon Sep 10, 2012 6:18 pm

I downloaded a copy of Rosetta Stone (spanish) and want to mount it so that I can actually use it on my PC. However the programmes (PowerIso and Daemon Tools) don't appear to be able to help me. This is most likely to be my fault, not the programmes I understand. But was wondering if anyone could help me.

I have the Rosetta stone CD files (.iso) and can mount them, but when I then click them it just brings up the folders (data, documentation, speech and languages) which are full of files I can't open i.e. the data files are RSD Files.

There also appears to be no option to 'run' the programme or install it. Have I downloaded the wrong files?

I understand this isn't the clearest help, but if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Odd it sounds like your doing what I would do.

Download iso and then I would mount with Daemon Tools and then it should run the file.

Can you confirm the download has all the correct files?

Not sure, I might download a different one. This one appears to have and install file and lots of step by step instructions.

EDIT - Just seen that torrent has been deleted :fp:

I'll download that one and see, cheers.

I'll try it all tomorrow and look up any more help this evening.

Once it's mounted, you should be able to just run it without exploring the contents of the disc. Apologies if this is patronising, but you should just be able to run it (from My Computer, or in PowerIso), I suspect that you're double clicking and opening up the files in the ISO, which you don't need to do.

Also, possibly on a more helpful note, Rosetta Stone really isn't a good program for learning a language, there are far better resources out there, especially for Spanish; there's loads of much better content freely ( :shifty: ) available.

With Rosetta stone there's two parts to it, the program, and the language CDs. The program will run any type of language and needs to be installed first. Then you mount the language CD so your PC thinks it's real, then run the program and tell it to run the CD.

Seem to have it sorted. I had downloaded the language CD's without the programme itself :fp:

Thanks for the help guys!

Have you tried building a time machine, going back in time five years and then asking BTB how he solved the problem?

No need to snarky! (Even if there's a good chance the user is a bot...)
