I do have a tendency to try and clear most things in the area I'm in; which results in completing the side quests and being overpowered. Just got that gotta catch em all mentality, which I wish I didn't have cos it then takes forever to get through the game!
Normally, despite loving a lot of the RPG's that I've played I'm kind of pretty bad at the battle mechanics (obviously not all of them but a good few I never take full advantage of) in most of them, so I tend to over level to compensate for my lack of skill.
