Got to the valley place, crossed the bridge to be ambushed by the big giant rat banana split thing. Took me more tries to beat him than it did any of the bosses so far. Managed to hit his open mouth at one point opening him for a visceral attack, which took him down to 1 hit left only for the git to thrash about and kill me :x Got him eventually though and then got killed by some fire cross split mob a bit later.

I'd also climbed down The broken rope bridge, beat the fire demon and found ash lake, only to narrowly miss getting hit by what I presume is the giant again before nopeing back to the bonfire.

Is that past the
irithyll dungeon
?

It was just before the giant skeleton boss, you chop the rope bridge and climb down, then it's through there. I just stuck my head out and decided to leave it for another day.

I didn't realize you could do that.

It's an optional area, but it does have my favourite weapon in the game.

It's worth its especially if you've played Dark Souls 1 and pay attention to all the lore.

Found a copy of the GotY ed for PS4 at my local game for £15 . Is it worth or should I hold off until I eventually get a better PC?

Cool, I'll wait then. I'd heard that the PC version was significantly better. By the time I've finished 1,2 and BB I'll probably be close to getting a new pc.

My go-to phrase playing the game was 'why would you do that?'. It's almost always your own stupid fault when you die.

Happens so many times, I get the boss near death and then just start hammering R1, run out of stamina and then can't roll away :fp:

Made progress the other night, made it up past the ninja knight things, killed the tall fire throwing bastard, then the OTHER one hiding up on the right, then all his witches, then the other two ninja knights before seeing a well guarded huge fog wall. Nope. Went left and found a sweet sweet bonfire. Went down from there and went under a bridge on a lake, near some tunnels and then found another bonfire. Saved it there, what's next?

I always get really bored playing as a mage. Nowhere near as fun as smashing folk with ultra greatswords.

Never played as a mage in any Dark Souls game. It looks very uninteresting.

try playing as a spellsword - magic and buffs, hit things with weapons also, a lot more fun.

I read that the mage classes in Dark Souls 3 was quite a lot harder than the strength or agility based characters.

Being a mage must be so boring :dread:
says me picking things off with my bow

Some of my random screenshots so far. Mostly mild area spoilers up to irithyll of the boreal valley. Interestingly i had a shield equipped but was always two handing, never used it (fashion souls :shifty: ) but i realised i was just carrying weight so theyre gone for good.

Went down the rope bridge bit. I thought it was going to be a tiny little area but it seems like there is a lot of stuff down there.
