It probably was. (I beat it a long while ago. Just felt like re-posting the video after going through the thread.)

By the way does anyone know about a good tactic to kick? I don't know if it's just the PC but I only seem to be able to pull it off every 1 in 10 attempts.

I'm struggling to do it at all (pc version). I've found rolling in to skinny enemies staggers them so thsts quite handy in a tight spot.

Was trying to clear out all paths of the undead settlement earlier before I move on. Found a bonfire under a bridge by rolling off from above, which first made me think I'd found a whole new path, but it just looped right around very quickly to somewhere I could already easily get to, plus it's right by another bonfire and shortcut so seems a bit pointless.

Is that under that bridge where those guys with the big pots, straight down from the tree boss room? I've fallen down there but it's always killed me.

right by it, half way up the bit that just overlooks that part. I also can't figure out how to get down there without dying.

I think you might need to buy the sewer key from the firelink shrine

By coincidence I decided to grind for the tower key she sells for 20k souls. Got that, talked to her and she wanted some item I had, then the key appeared..

Just been down there.

I'm stuck on the
first lord of cinder, can beat his first form but it's using all my health up.
Still really enjoying the game though.

Abyss Watchers? I found that boss tricky the first time through too. Just play ultra-cautious in the first phase and only attack when they have their attention on your 'ally'. The second phase is pretty scary with all the fire effects but really he only has the same attacks, just roll through (forwards and to the side) and punish.

Had a great/awful few hours on this yesterday.

I forget the place names but I did the valley but with the shrieking winged strawberry floaters :dread: I then went past that to a big water bit with giant enemy crabs, down a ladder to a poison bit but also ended up in a cathedral. Oh I also stumbled on a crystal something witch boss who i beat. Mistakenly started the DLC in the cathedral (must be a first for souls to be able to not have to jump through hoops to start dlc). Came back out from the bonfire there and spent about an hour moving through a cathedral before getting absolutely smashed by a load of enemies who rode a lift down with me :x Took me so long to get there that it put me off playing more when I ended up way back at that bonfire.

I spent all more gaming time yesterday trying to beat that boss. I just managed it in the end.

I unlocked a cathedral shortcut on that same route last night, so.much.relief. I beat a giant who was busy smacking the sides of the ledge I was On, before moving down and getting to a biiiiig area filled with water before saving.

I killed him on the floor, it's much easier to defeat them down their.

I was trying that tactic but
kept getting caught by his fire attacks when I rolled. In the end I used the lightest amour I had with no shield to be as fast and maneuverable as possible to keep out of his way.

Made my way through the cathedral unlocking the last shortcut to the main bonfire :toot:

From there I found a ladder up to The support thingys and up in to the rafters where there were some bastard hard enemies.. that I knocked to their doom with well placed head shot arrows 8-) Nothing much of value up there that I could see, looked to be a drop to those bridge things I raised in the main hall but then using my binoculars I could see those things lead nowhere so didn't bother.

Made my way past the second giant, this one takes little to no damage when curled up so I had to fat roll past him.

Then I ended up at the boss deacons of the deep. Once I'd figured out what I was supposed to be doing I thought it was pretty easy until another phase triggered and the strawberry floaters hit me with dark magic clipping through the centre object thing, before cursing and killing me when I had it down to about a quarter health :x

That's enough dark souls for one night.

General question on resistant clothing, like bleed, poison and curse - does the item start protect you from build up, or is it a case that you have less of a penalty when the gauge builds up and the status takes hold?

Yeah it protects you from build-up, Curse will kill you instantly as soon as the bar fills up.

Boss tip - Just hit one of the guys casting the magic to break their concentration and they won't cast their Curse spell. Then get back to wailing on the main dude.
