Horizon: Zero Dawn | PS4 | Guerrilla Games

Zero Dawn get, for Zero Pounds. Who knew Left 4 Dead 2 (Xbox 360 version) was worth as much as Uncharted 4 on trade in? Me, now.

Edit; So, played a few hours. Impressions are good, but not overly so. The scenery and lighting is amazing, the character models not so much. The bit in the Bunker where Aloy gets the focus was great, the rest of the story has been a bit plodding. The HUD is messy as strawberry float and after 2 years of Witcher the lack of customizable options for it is a bit poor.

I'm assuming everything opens up after the Proving though.

Edit: aaaand I've just found the custom HUD options. Cool.

EDIT: Yeah I get this now. Spent all last night sneaking around all over the shop collecting Vantages and Vessels and enjoying every bit of it. Love the fact it's set in Colorado, I spent a few weeks there a while back and Red Rocks was immediately recognisable even before I found the relevant Vantage. I'm assuming Boulder is in there somewhere, which was where I was living so looking forward to that.

Just got the shield weaver armour and completed all the weapon lodge trials and i'm at level 50. Absolutely love this game. It might be the first game i ever bother to get 100% on.

One thing i'm confused about is that now i've got all the skill points from the trials and leveled up to the max, i can't quite figure out where i'll get the remaining 3 skill points to get every single skill in the game.

There are some side quests that gives you the skill points so you may miss a few of quests out there.

You actually still get experience after you've reached level 50, so you can still get more skill points and unlock everything on the skill tree.

v1.20 is up now.

Included the tools for a Photo Mode.

Hopefully the map filter and HUD options will make it into HZD2 on its launch.

Welp, just took down my first Thunderjaw. That was a fight.

Went back to this today, just completed the Heart of the Nora quest. Feels like I'm getting close to the end - Anyone remember how many more main missions there are?

Spent most of my time mucking about in the photomode though :shifty:

You wouldn't believe how many times I fell off that waterfall :slol:

Just completed the Hunting Lodge quests:

Stumbled onto an Oseram town I'd never visited before with a couple of quests to do, so I think I'm going to have to check the whole map for towns that I haven't seen before I carry on with the main story.

Finally managed to fill all the skill trees, grab all the vantage points, banuk figures and metal flowers.

Do i need to collect all the data points to get platinum trophy for the game? As those are the one thing to collect I can't be arsed with.

Nope.

Only data logs you want to be on lookout for are the ones marked on radar during story missions toward the end. (Nothing to do with the trophies, though. They help flesh the story out and imo are well worth a read/listen.)

I think the only thing that's irked me at all about the game, and this is really minor, is that 9 times out of 10 when you stumble across something interesting in the world it's related to a quest that starts somewhere else. For eg: I came across the Snapmaw killzone really early on, Aloy remarked on it but nothing came of it. About 30 hours later, I find the quest attached to it. I also found the Grave Hoard, and the bunker where you have to fight the Stormbird way before their story quest missions (in fact, I still haven't gotten to the quest for the latter, after the route leading up just ended I had to google it). This game obviously takes a lot of inspiration from Witcher 3, which is great, but one thing it doesn't do is all the incidental stuff you'd find in that game, like little mysteries and such that aren't linked to any quest but are just there to fill in the world.

I've only really found 1 thing so far like this. After completing the southernmost Tallneck I noticed the spear of rock it was wandering by had hand holds about halfway up. After launching myself off the Tallneck and scrambling up...there was a cave with a small firepit and two skeletons holding hands. It was just a really nice little bonus for anyone who noticed and bothered to explore. Wish there was more stuff like that.

Eurgh. The Acquired Taste quest is dull :dread:

That last Hunting Ground is crazy! Got a little worried it would be impossible but I underestimated how ridiculous the Ravager cannon is :datass:
