Apologies for quoting myself. I've done more research and I can't find anything confirming his rumours. It's strange he's not the sort to make things up, I mean, his dad's James Bond, so I thought he was pretty credible.

The only DLC info I heard was April 1st related. No idea what the specifics were, but a GG employee mentioned something on Twitter (possibly retweeted it) but it was taken for what it was.

Cannot believe I only this morning realised Lance Reddick is in this  :fp: His distinct voice sounded super familiar (smokey/gravelly setting to maximum) and so should have been enough to make me realise it was him, but to not figure it out *even when* he actually shows up on screen?! Madness.

Oh great  Now I feel guilty for brutalising all the helpful robots.

They stretched its reveal out a little too long for my tastes, but the build up to revealing (via the holographic projections, and datapoints) the precise nature of Project Zero Dawn was very good.

Death of the Skies Quest.

It was difficult to manage the Stormbird but what I did is sneaking in the area and disabled the lure devices. And dragged the Stormbird to another area with other machines and I hide in the taller grass. Wait for Stormbird to cool down and when it had, it just flew away and disappeared. I didn't take a chance to kill it. :toot:

And finished! What an amazing game, I really don't think I can fault it. I'm not usually a completest, but I found myself wanting to search out everything the game had to offer, I even neglected using fast travel on many occasions because it was such a joy to run across the map picking fights with the myriad of beasties on offer. I also found the story really strong, the way in which each element was revealed was brilliantly done, the audio logs were great and I even read some of the text logs, usually something I can't be arsed with.

Overall I think I put about 70 hours into the game, I really didn't want it to end, roll on the DLC.

10/10

 You big chicken!

I fought it by the Bellowbacks 8-) Its gust attack blew me off there into the river down below. THREE times. :fp:

Just did the Hunters Lodge missions :toot: The final one (T-Jaw + Ravagers) was *a lot* of fun, even if Aloy did end up getting smushed a good few time in a row.

Finally got round to starting this.

It's alright, the tutorial was a bit drawn out and rather talky talky. I find how much detail there is in the environment makes everything a bit cluttered and difficult to pick out specific things like routes or robots.

Combat seems ok and I'm glad it's not thrown massive upgrade trees at me straight away. Story has my interest piqued but nothing more yet, I'm not sure the dialogue trees are really necessary.

Finished this last night. (First 1AM finish in a long time.) Absolutely loved it. Amazingly the game managed to calm just about every fear I had of it. (The story was great, and the gameplay loop, whilst hardly original, was still crazy fun to actually play.) Unfortunately, the finale wasn't all that great gameplay wise, but everything else I really did love. Cracking game, cannot wait for its DLC and sequel.

gg GG!

This is not a good game to play after Breath of the Wild. The world exploration is filled with so many invisible walls and ledges you should be able to clamber over but can't it's absolutely infuriating.

The combat as well :dread: Taking out the enemy camps is like bashing your head against the wall. Even in the middle of the day everything's so dark it's impossible to see an enemy standing 5m in front of you and telling the difference between friend and foe is just guess work. Enemies appearing from nowhere is a barrel of fun too.

If only the main character had some kind of device on her head which would give you information about the world more clearly if you pushed in the right thumb stick, which then allowed you to tag enemies.
Oh well.

I haven't encountered any invisible walls. It sucks there's no contextual climbing, but given the design of the world I feel like that would be a massive undertaking.
You can still 'skyrim' your way up mountains and such.

The bandit camps are great fun what the heck :slol:

There's only like six of them, though

They're easily the worst part of the game.

Usually it's just sneaking around headshotting everyone, it's incredibly basic, especially compared to the animals.

Nah, the forced hunting for upgrades/weapons is the worst part of the game. Especially when you don't get the one resource you're after for the crafting, like the fox you've just had to slaughter didn't actually have any skin.

It's dark during the middle of the day? Darkness during the night isn't an issue, never mind the day! Only thing I can think of is either darkness caused by weather, or your TV settings are off.

And as Fade said, make use of the Focus. It won't highlight everyone from the off in the larger camps, so use it once whichever side of the camp you're approaching from, mark everyone you can see, and then do the same again when you're in the camp proper. (You'll be closer to all enemies and so they'll show up more easily.)

Yeah, when you've got a dozen enemies shooting you though switching the focus on isn't really going to help much. You just have to run around and mash.

The fights with the robots are so much better, lots of variation. Finding the weaknesses and exploiting them is cool and you can also just mash them to bits. Lots of cool moments already.

I find the dialogue incredibly dour, it takes itself so seriously it's a real drag to sit through it all. The animation is so stiff as well. Maybe it's just because the General look of everybody is so good that how robotic their faces are in the delivery just stands out all the more.

Edit: Having said that I have just come across an NPC whose delivery is really good, maybe it's just a sporadic issue. Christ these dialogue trees though :fp:

Maybe I'm imagining it/was incredibly lucky, but a number of times the animal part which I needed for a satchel upgrade always seemed to fall from the very next animal I encountered which I needed it from. This happened so often I was sure the game was fixing it for me. But then I never got the fish skin I needed for one of the upgrades, so maybe I'd been lucky all along. ( :x WTF were all those fish doing with a fox tail lucky charms anyway?!)

I'm trying to trade like a Fox, boar and... Turkey(?) skin for a new bow (I think), and I'm getting nothing. Even made a job for it in the hope it'd point me towards where the animals tend to herd but no luck :( Hoping I can get a decent bow from the Hunting Lodge quests but so far I've only done one of them!

Unfortunately, the hunting trial missions award you a war bow (the low damage, status effect bow type), not sharpshot / hunter bows. Other rewards are blast sling, and ropecaster. Don't do the trials for the rewards alone as they only offer +5 stats over their Shadow counterparts. (Do them if you're after some quality machine action, though! The Stalker, and T-Jaw/Ravager trials were a lot of fun.)

I'm kinda in the same boat. As open world third person games go, this isn't quite Zelda. The world looks gorgeous, though, and the story, although delivered in quite a hammy fashion, looks interesting. I'll see this one through but, out of the two, Zelda beats this hands down.
