Didn't enjoy the first one at all. The game should have stayed on the DS. Hopefully this is more of a survival horror game...but co-op :x

Shame there's no 3DS version. Would have been a nice title to show off New 3DS.

It's a shame there isn't a handheld version at all. The episodic nature of the original was designed for portables not for longer sessions on consoles. Maybe it won't be structured like that, and they're just going to use the 'revelations' tag line as a way of presenting a more traditional puzzle type RE. Meanwhile developing a line of action based titles (like 4,5,6 were).

Got so confused by this tweet, it makes it seem like Claire and Barry had a daughter together:

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil: Revelations will initially launch in early 2015 as a series of downloadable episodes, with a new chapter to be made available for the game each week. Consisting of four episodes, Revelations 2 will also be available as a 'Complete Season', enabling you to download the chapters as they launch each week.

Once the final episode has launched, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be available on disc at retail, with additional game content. The same additional content will be available with the Complete Season download, although what this content is has yet to be revealed. Each of Revelations 2's four episodes will end on a cliffhanger, says Capcom.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 tells the story of Claire Redfield as she makes a return to the horrors that haunt her past. Claire now finds herself working anti-bioterrorism organisation, Terra Save with new recruit Moira Burton, who also happens to be Barry Burton's daughter. It's at Moira's Terra Save welcome party that it all kicks off as unknown armed forces storm the office. Claire and Moira must work together to find the truth, when they're knocked unconscious and wake up on a remote island.

Here's how Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will break down when it launches next year:

Format | Content | Price

Weekly Episodic download 4 individual episodes - $5.99 per episode
Complete Season All 4 individual episodes plus additional game content - $24.99
Full Retail disc version All 4 individual episodes plus additional game content* - $39.99

*Retail disc version includes further gameplay content in addition to the content included in the Complete Season.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 launches in early 2015, alongside the Resident Evil remaster. Get some screenshots into your eyeballs below. You'll find a dozen in the gallery here.

The disc containing (undefined) "additional" content to the season pass seems like an odd move that'll annoy completionists.

Looks like the proper Resi 6 just as Revelations 1 was the proper Resi 5.

Looks strawberry floating great. Capcom have basically two Resi franchises now, the horrible action main series and superior horror side series.

Should I be worried it's a little over a week to release and no sign of previews/reviews/hype?

Is that really £10 difference for a raid character, costumes and maps?

I'm a bit cautious about this too, Hexx. There has barely been a screenshot in recent months. Even on console the complete series (season pass) is priced at just under twenty quid digitally. If Capcom is putting the game out at a reasonable price, I suspect it is light on content.

I've bought it to experiment with a guide for it. Might fail tragically, but Rev 1 was a pretty enjoyable Resi game on the 3DS when I actually finished it.
