Just watched the trailer again.

strawberry floating gash. Like, proper strawberry floating garbage, as if Michael Bay directed Saving Private Ryan. Also, does that squad photo remind anyone of this?

It'll be interesting to see the linguistic gymnastics they use to make their latest microtransaction system look good or even benevolent.

Dreadful trailer. First time I've ever seen a BF that didn't interest me. I was hoping for a Ww2 setting, but this trailer was silly.

Folk took the piss out of Sledgehammer for attempting to capture the emotion context of such a terrible war with CoD WWII, but at least they tried. By comparison that BFV trailer was like some cheesy and painfully embarrassing Chuck Norris 80's action flick.

I don't know what I was expecting from the trailer but it wasn't that.

There's been plenty of WW2 game trailers which show the savage action of WW2 but this just went with balls to the wall action and almost zero context.
Where's the suggestion of a larger team or any of the Drama from the B1 campaign which had some amazing moments such as the doomed assault at the start that showed the almost futile struggle of the average soldier?

As trailers go this couldn't have been further from what the series has tried to be.

The twitter reaction to this is hilariously predictable.

"it's PC gone mad. Disabled women weren't in ww2. I want an accurate game!"

Not really bothered by the single player in a Battlefield game, I didn't enjoy BC2 and considering everything has been abysmal since then I wouldn't expect anything else.

Didn't enjoy BF1 at all, it felt like they took the more cumbersome, boaty movement speed to another level. Coming from Titanfall and CoD just moving around in BF1 felt like driving a tank. I'll wait to see how the multiplayer is.

Watched the trailer again. Yep, it looks awful and now I know what it definitely reminds me of. "The Expendables: WWII Edition".

On the plus side it's one less game to buy.

Going by the Jack Frags video, I think I'll love this MP. It's getting further and further away from CoD's twitch based shooting mechanics which can only be a good thing. The Trailer is showing the campaign which is fair enough to criticize but lets be honest, Battlefields MP is what it's all about. I adored BF 4 and 1 so I'm hyped AF for this.

Hope that footage is from an X1X...

I really don't know what people are complaining about. As everyone knows Blitzkrieg translates to slide shooting with an LMG, I suppose the only inaccuracy that I could see is that the allies used this tactic in the trailer. Also I hear the Rock's grandfather is in the game, pretty sure he piledrived Hitler in real life.

strawberry float me, that really was awful, what were they thinking? The slide shooting, alluded to above, looks strawberry floating ridiculous as does the frequency of him doing it, it's not strawberry floating Titan Fall. I can see online devolving into people constantly sliding about like idiots. This is only a trailer I suppose, so maybe the game will be good, but if I had to base a purchase on this alone, I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

No doubt some of those comments are horrendous, but as someone who loves to read up on history I've read a hell of a lot on both world wars and that BFV trailer does smack of EA having a token kick ass female protagonist to show how 'right on' they are as opposed to delivering some genuine historical accuracy. That may not be the case in the complete game, but you can't deny that trailer felt incredibly forced.

There's plenty of information available on the roles of women in WWII.

"The Soviet Union was the only major power to allow women in front-line combat roles. Some other countries allowed women to join the armed forces, but only in support roles behind the lines. The numbers were small: even in the Soviet Union women made up only 8% of the armed forces, while in the US they were just 2%. Britain had 10% and was also the first country to introduce conscription for women as well as men"

Of course that trailer looked so far away from the reality of WWII and more like a cheesy action flick I guess they can do what ever they like with it.
