This surely can't be the reason. Are the majority of Battlefield players really that pathetic?

The annoying thing for me is when I see people like Jack Frags play the game without mentioning the shitty marketing blunders or customisation it looks like a really good Battlefield game which is all I want. I still have this on order because I like Battlefield games I just wish they'd concentrated on just doing that without customisation or Battle Royale and I have no problem with women being in the game as I had zero problem with them in Battlefield 1.

We're talking about a game where I can cure a point blank shotgun blast to the face or being run over by a tank (then mercilessly teabagged) with a syringe full of gunk a lady being in the battlefield is hardly the most unrealistic part of the game.

99% of them strawberry floating run away from me while on about 3% health while I'm a medic trying to chuck health packs at their face or respawn when I'm inches away from reviving them leaving me in no-mans land and almost certain death so yes, they really are that pathetic :x .

There's quite a big chunk of content not being released until after launch. Couple that with how EA handled Battlefront 2 (especially its post launch content) and it being EA and maybe even Battlefield saturation.

I don't know, the game seems a bit confused to me. Like the art style and "alternate take" on WW2 seem to be trying to ape Wolfenstein a bit, but not wanting to stray too close. The over the top action seems to be trying to copy COD WW2, but again not too close for comfort.

So for me this seems a very confused title, not sure what it actually wants to be. Add in the poor marketing, and the Battlefront fiasco and its no wonder that pre-orders are down.

I think Battlefront 2 is the major reason such is pretty mental when they didn't actually release it with loot boxes you could pay for and it being an alright game. Maybe BF1 and CoD WW2 satisfied people's need for a shooter in WW/2?

I still think this looks great, as a CoD fan I love what they've done with the shooting.

I guess the target audience wasn’t alive for Medal of Honor Underground, then.

Today, we’re announcing that Battlefield V will have a new launch date – November 20, 2018. I wanted to give you a little bit of insight into how we arrived at this new date.

Over the summer, we’ve had tens of thousands of players get their hands on the game during our Closed Alphas and at E3 and Gamescom – where we were honored to receive the awards for Best Multiplayer Game at both shows.

You have told us that you are seeing an increased focus on squad play come through, you are also feeling the difference in our revamped player movement and we are getting a lot of positive feedback for our improved weapons handling.

You’ve also spurred us to make some meaningful improvements to the core gameplay experience, including adjusting the gameplay tempo, improving soldier visibility and reducing player friction. You’ll see a lot of these reflected in our Open Beta that starts on September 6.

We believe we have one of the best Battlefield games ever on our hands. A game that will deliver on an emotional journey through the return of unseen single player War Stories, a deep multiplayer experience, Battle Royale, along with our new live service, Tides of War - a journey across multiple theaters of WW2 and designed to keep our community together.

With the Open Beta just around the corner, we are excited about the millions of you who will join us and experience the game. And we fully expect to see even more feedback coming our way.

And that’s why we’re moving our launch date. We’re going to take the time to continue to make some final adjustments to core gameplay, and to ensure we really deliver on the potential of Tides of War.

We know moving the launch date means that we all have to wait a little longer. But we’re going to take our time to make sure we get it right.

Thank you for your continued passion and support. We can’t wait to see you on the battlefield in just a few days.

I wonder what they mean by "Improving player friction" as I can't say I've ever thought about friction during a game :? .

Maybe they can put on a jumper a bit faster but unless we're constantly playing maps that go from really hot to really cold I'm unsure how that helps. I watched that "SAS are you tough enough?" program and they didn't have a jumper based segment.

I think this is more of a marketing decision. They've done a poor job of promoting the game thus far and they probably want some time to remedy this. Gameplay impressions have been positive, so I can see the beta being pivotal in turning around the game's fortunes.

Yeah the hype for this so far is nearly non-existent.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Guess they wanted to avoid another Titanfall 2 situation and moved it to a less busy time of year. Even though it's still rather busy mid to late November.

A good decision, now if only they had done the same with Titanfall 2 a couple of years ago....

I'll show them how a real pro plays the medic class.
