Every battle is unique. Every mode its own challenge. Battlefield V multiplayer provides unmatched intensity and scale in a sandbox of all-out war. Take on classic modes like Conquest or experiences like Grand Operations, where you'll participate in vast historical battles across multiple maps – and modes – and relive moments of bravery and desperation while fighting your way to the final objective.

Also announced is a Battle Royale mode with news coming later this year. Single player footage will be present tomorrow in Microsoft conference.

Launch locations are France, Africa and Rottedam and North Africa desert

No more Premium pass.

Full Terrain Deformation.

Bullet Penetration.

Overhauled movement system

Grand Operations - "multiple-gamemodes over multiple maps"

War Stories back

4 player Co-op Mode called Combined Arms

New Defensive strategies with Fortifications. Everyone has access to fortifications but the Support player has more stuff. Fortifications are things like sand ags, trenches, tank stoppers. Only supports can build offensively defense fortifications such as machine guns, field cannons and are much faster at building everything. Predetermined areas to build such as at flags, can rebuild destroyed buildings

Health bar is in stages, only regen up to closet stage not to 100 anymore

Physical interactions - every action in the game requires a player interact for things like medkits, spotting, ammo, ledge grabbing (example: healing requires walking over to a health pack, character animation to pick it up, then start healing)

The Company - Your personal collections of Soldiers, weapons & Vehicles. Customize your look & play.

No pay to win.

Tides of War - Themed chapters of WW2 over many months after launch.

No more HUD/map spotting, spotting is based on movement/changes around you

Launches October, Fall of Europe expansion starts in November.

Squad mates can revive (does not give full health points) but much slower than medics. Revive system has a full on animation, takes a few seconds to complete, no more revive trains, takes time to complete

Dragging introduced to pull players out of line of fire. Ragdolls are server side, can now drag a downed player's body elsewhere.

XB1X Enhanced

Much less ammo on spawn, out of ammo after a few fights, but more ways to resupply ammo in the battlefield from packs, crates, or grabbing small amounts of ammo off of bodies (all requires physical interactions)

Can call for help when down such as in the trailer

Bad Company 2 was great for the singleplayer - it felt like an 80s comedy action film and didn't take itself SUPR SRSSLY like all the other battlefield games. I fear that time has passed, and also this is also EA so i have zero enthusiasm or expectation for it not to be riddled with microtransactions ot some sort of exploitative system in one form or another.

Best single-player campaigns they've ever done, so if they can recapture that for this I'll be happy.

Though I fully expect them to EA the gooseberry fool out of it.

Yup, that sounds a lot like what I played. (On the 360, I think.)

Gave Battlefield 4 a spin after seeing it running at locked 60fps on mp on X1X and it's still absolutely brilliant. It helps that I'm quite the veteran at it and all my load ups had me tearing it up again, so im game for a modern day BF again.

I like how you can go between 4 and 1 without having to load both games, once it had the other on HD you can switch on the fly.

EA’s DICE studio is testing a battle royale mode for Battlefield V that features similar gameplay to megahits like Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, according to someone with knowledge of the studio who asked to remain anonymous. In those last player-standing shooters, 100 players drop onto a map and fight until only one person or team is left standing, and that game type has taken over the industry.

Battlefield seems to have been increasing its player count over the years, so a 100 player battle royale mode seems to be the next logical evolution.

What does the '100' refer to?

I think that's how many players there are at the start of a Battle Royale match.

Oh god:

Housemarque's new multiplayer game Stormdivers sounds like a battle royale

"That's a very good assumption."

On the one hand I can't really blame them for moving away from arcade type games if they haven't been a success for them, but their going down the BR route is such a disappointment.

PUBG2 surely makes that list look fake as heck.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:
