Manageable if you’re not stupid and eat the whole chillies like I’ve done.

Slight stomachache but I have also downed 4 Cobra beers to cool my mouth down.

Doesn’t taste anything like a vindaloo from a curry house, but after about 5 minutes it doesn’t matter anyway. You can’t taste strawberry float ALL.

It really is the next day that screws me over these days, so badly so that I have to avoid crazy levels of heat. I'd just be guaranteeing myself about two hours on the toilet and a bleeding anus.

I found it to be something you adjust to over time. For me the hotter it is, the more my senses open up and the better it tastes. Phal and vindaloo are proper English dishes though, all heat and a generic taste. Now something like a green garlic chilli balti is amazing, and you just ask the chef to make it to the strength you'd like. So a balti at vindaloo strength for example gets you the amazing tastes with the sensory overload of heat :datass:

Trying as many dishes is good too, doesn't always have to be hot. At our local curry house we've had about half the dishes on the menu now, found some great ones to have as a third dish while we try a new one each.

Curry

Chicken jalfrezi is my go-to dish at a curry house. Glorious flavour, decent heat level and surprisingly healthy (for a curry).

I had a Kashmiri Korma this year that actually made me appreciate a korma for the first time in my life.

Four cobras on a Thursday as well as a hot curry? Woah there.

Hopefully you are not working today.

Are you still alive KK?

I’m going to have a curry tonight in tribute to your bravery, and in memory of your digestive system.
Only a nice korma for me though, and a light beer, accompanied by a peshwari naan. Then a sherry.

I'm being a hipster today and having a organic peppermint tea to detox my chakras and recuperate.
