Right now I'm finding the LARPing subplot far more enthralling than the rest of the game and I'm beginning to want an entire Saints Row/GTA style game based around a city-wide LARP event.

Yup. The entire LARPing stuff was the funniest part of the entire story. Could similarly go for an entire game based around it. As long as it's executed right.

They've managed to turn one of the best side activities, Mayhem, into a ball aching boring chore.

Much of the environment that was previously destroyable and rewarded in Mayhem tasks, such as fences, bollards, etc, are now no longer destructable. And in Tank mayhem anything that you run over, or that even just drives into you, is crushed and destroyed with zero contribution towards your score. And the tank takes so long to reload that keeping up a high combo is nigh on impossible so you just keep running out of time. Explosions also seem to have incredibly minimal radius, so if you fire into the middle of a crowd of Police/Marshall officers chasing you then they're pretty much all fine except the one person you might have managed to hit dead on.
And even if you hit someone dead on then the armoured enemies (Which were already a strawberry floating stupid addition in the first place) are fully capable of surviving 1, or sometimes even 2, direct tank shell hits :fp:

Oh, and whoever decided that collectables should de-spawn from the world when you're on a mission should never be allowed to work in game design ever again. strawberry floating idiot.
I assume the same moron also designed the Idol enemies with the spinning batons to make them totally weapon proof and implemented Mario Kart style rubber banding on the Police AI so that they teleport to right behind you if you get too far ahead of them on a road.

I had a few bugs with the PS5 version. More than once music just got stuck on an endless loop, especially the music from the toxic waste activity.
The main bug I had though was HUD elements not appearing. Health/Progress bars not appearing, unlock notifications not appearing, photo objective outlines not appearing. I suspect these were more related to suspending the game with the PS5 rest mode. Had to reload my save to fix them, though that had the downside of throwing me across the map back to the church.

Just stepped back into this. Took a drive around town, just cruising and enjoying the graphics. Then this came onto the radio.

Volition's current roadmap comes to a close in August with another (currently unnamed) Expansion Pass release and another free update, with the latter promising a second new district, plus other new features and improvements - which are set to be revealed closer to release.


Glad to hear that the photo mode is gonna be enhanced and the other additions sound interesting, too.

I expect there is some contractual thing where they have set this all out in advance and kind of have to do it but yeah, I can't imagine this is going to suddenly turn everything around.

I've re-started the adventure... such a crazy, bombastic opening! Finished setting up my threads, too; starting out in a green bomber jacket, with blue t-shirt and jeans, and finished off with white/blue trainers. Looking good!
