I'll be getting this at some point soon. I won't be buying it though. My bro-in-law will be grabbing it digitally, which means as we share our games I'll be getting it through him. I'll be playing through it in co-op with him and then hopefully down the line with Cumberdanes, if, he picks it up.

That sounds like a neat setup, Pedz - hopefully you'll soon be knee-deep in the action!

Yeah, he's waiting a few weeks to see if it gets a price drop as he's fed up with buying games on launch and then it drops in 2 weeks  Don't blame him.

I enjoyed your Legion streams; I think that was the first time that I'd seen the Xbox Series S in action and I was impressed by the puddle reflections :-). If you were to showcase Saints Row, I would take a look!

Awesome. I think early September between all the Splatoon stuff will be where it goes, but you should see from the banner here if I'm live with it.

Watch Dogs Legion for me was a brilliant tourism simulation. It did lack the fun factor of an open world game as it was hard to create carnage and there wasn't much scope for silliness.

This is the opposite, world is fine but the moment to moment gameplay is made to be messed around in.

I've just unlocked the RPG, some nice new cosmetics and a couple of excellent vehicles.

I don't want to call out YouTubers but I've not seen any bugs or issues with performance. It runs smoothly and loads fast. Maybe they were playing on pc with different settings but this isn't a cyberpunk style mess that its being portrayed as.

Exactly my thoughts with Legion. There's been many a time I've called it a London Walkabout Simulator.

You can even go on the londony eye, slowly go up and take pictures. Best is Westminster, when it's raining and you can see the reflection of parliament in the puddles.

It's a stupidly cheap game now. On PlayStation 5 it's £8.95 at The Game Collection.

It is really quite stunning in the rain with raytracing turned on.

Oh, I just love it.
I just encountered the LARP enterprise, where you get special weapons that 'kill' the enemies you face. The whole thing is absolutely absurd and I love it for that, especially the takedown animations where you pretend to hit your enemies or even steal their soul. Just brilliant.

Takedowns are a highlight. Loads of random animations.

I've just done a monster truck mission. Classic saints row stuff. Now I can start to build stuff and do more side missions the game has really opened up and is much more like the saints row of old.

Really worth unlocking weapons unique skills. Makes combat easier and more fun.

Also if you are doing side missions for things you've built, you can go to the map screen hover ove the place and press square (think it's square) and it'll highlight on the map where to go to find a truck etc. Or whatever you need for the building unlock/upgrade.

Up to level 2 Empire.

I think if you stuck to one thing (i.e. maxing a venture) you could possibly get bored, but as it stands I'm having a blast mixing leveling up with main missions.

Have I missed something obvious or is there no way to summon a car etc? (Might be something that unlocks later)

I actually really like the cast. There's not (too much) too them but I'm engaged with them.

Dang. Reading the gameplay posts here and then looking at a couple of vids has made me think that I'd like to get this! Deffo not gonna be paying fifty wraps but I'd like to jump in once the price drops.

Within the contacts. Should be one of the first options in the list.

Ah, yes. I knew I'd unlocked it somewhere, but must have been under the impression it was from first setting him up rather than completing them all.

And done.

Very sorry the main story is over - I was remarkably attached to the characters given the limited time/back story. The story itself was by the numbers but I still enjoyed it loads because of characters. Given reception it's sad to think (DLC aside) their story is done.

It's very much a 6/7 game make no mistake, but I'm sad it's become the internets designated punching bag for a while. What is it is it does ok, not spectacular. And it's very clearly "old style" the even trying to move things forward. But because it tries, it doesn't fail. It's just solid at what it was and if you like this sort of game you'll like it.

Didn't get too many bugs. Many thing was my customisation of colours etc on clothing reset so had to reapply, but that's 2 secs of the menu. I had 2 mission restarts that froze, but mostly that was it.

There's some very odd choices e.g.

you can't flip a car back over unless I missed, so if you flip, even on a mission you're done
you can't fast travel in missions, but there's no hint where the mission starts until you're underway.
XP curve is all over the place - I'd leveled to 20 very quickly, way before perk that increases XP
Money rewards are - you're earning 500k per hour, but a 30min mission will give you 4k
I'd guessed it was pushed out the door before they deemed it ready...

Not sure how much of content I'll mop up. It's fun enough but there's A LOT of it (e.g. 14 missions to bring trucks back to base) even though I've done a fair amount inbetween missions and without the characters ongoing interaction I think it might stale fast.

Also at times it looks strawberry floating glorious

And so do I

Bought it this morning, and I've been having an absolute blast with it all afternoon. Another reason for me to completely ignore reviews, because they rarely align with what I'm actually looking for from a game.

Ended up picking this up second hand and so far it's....ok? It's a step down in absolutely every way except graphically compared to 2, 3 and 4. The humour isn't as good, the music isn't as good, the characters aren't as good, the map isn't as good as Stilwater/Steelport were, the story isn't as good and the gameplay/controls feel somewhat more floaty. More than once I've found myself on a mission where you're in combat but also having to go and interact with something and had to just hammer away at the interaction button before it will register because I wasn't stood on the exact right pixel for it.

The fast travel system is also pretty bobbins when combined with how the missions work. You accept missions from your phone, which means you can get them from anywhere, which in theory is fine. The problem is that prior to accepting the mission you have zero indication of where the actual start point will be, and most missions so far have started with "Go and meet character X at place Y", so you could be on the other side of the map from place Y. But as soon as the mission starts the Fast Travel system is totally disabled, even for the stage of "Just travel to place Y".
It would be nice to have an indication of where the mission is going to actually start so you can fast travel to somewhere even remotely nearby.
