strawberry float that's awful :(

So many credits to his name including his ability to have fun in a business that sometimes inexplicably lacks it.

Time for adventure

It's strange they managed to keep something like this a secret for two days.

I'm actually in shock over this. Iwata was only a year younger than my Mum and he helped build so many worlds and things I loved growing up and all of a sudden he's just gone. I know before they mentioned him having health problems, but I didn't realise that it was this bad.

It was detected early a year ago and that still wasn't enough to save him. Life can be so brutal.

strawberry float cancer.

He had a pretty solid history. Worked at HAL, did programming for nearly all the early Kirby games, helped with the debug for melee (thanks for not finding the black hole glitch) and was a producer for nearly every game Nintendo released in the late 90s and 2000s.
Now that he is gone we will probably see Nintendo be hit by it really hard, he was probably the hardest worker at the company.

I also just saw this on facebook.

What the strawberry float. Watching BBC news and I caught the back-end of some Nintendo story. I assumed it was about Iwata leaving, so I do search for it and cannot believe what the top story is.

Rest in peace, Iwata-sama.

This is such a big shock, totally unexpected. I mean, I knew he'd been unwell, but I didn't expect him to just... die.

I really liked how hands-on the man was, compared to his counterparts in other large companies. No matter what was going on, you could always count on him to put in an appearance, show up in a Direct video, something like that. He got a lot of stick from people, but he lead Nintendo to interesting places, and sometimes that brought it success. I can't imagine where the company will go once an official successor has been named, but I hope it'll go where he would have.

R.I.P., the industry and E3 will never be the same.

Well, it was about half as long as it might've been if he'd been in better health.
