How on earth is bacon even in the running for this?!
Bacon is bacon - you can get a couple of types and you can smoke it (which ruins it by the way
) but come on it can't hold a candle to the variety and versatility of the mighty sausage!

It's a useful example of the difference between the two I think - bacon is good as itself but only really excels as a way to enhance something else, sausages are just brilliant in any circumstance!

I massively disagree, my missus is a manager in a supermarket has brought home a variety of sausages over the years. Most of them were disgusting to be honest, you can't beat a normal everyday pork sausage. Kearnes sausages are the worlds best, made in Dublin.

Obviously shite sausages are always going to be shite, but the best sausages - the truly, undeniably great sausages - those are just on a level that the humble bacon slice can only dream of!
Can't say I've tried Kearnes - will see if I can find them!
