How on earth is bacon even in the running for this?!

Bacon is bacon - you can get a couple of types and you can smoke it (which ruins it by the way :P) but come on it can't hold a candle to the variety and versatility of the mighty sausage!

The rule should be that the processed foodstuff can only be as good as its vegetarian counterpart. In that case, bacon could never win.

It's good round sausages. Properly crunches up.

Streaky bacon is all kinds of wrong. Back bacon all the way!

Can't beat a pig in a blanket, certainly not if anyone from PETA is around!

It's a useful example of the difference between the two I think - bacon is good as itself but only really excels as a way to enhance something else, sausages are just brilliant in any circumstance!

I massively disagree, my missus is a manager in a supermarket has brought home a variety of sausages over the years. Most of them were disgusting to be honest, you can't beat a normal everyday pork sausage. Kearnes sausages are the worlds best, made in Dublin. :datass:

Obviously shite sausages are always going to be shite, but the best sausages - the truly, undeniably great sausages - those are just on a level that the humble bacon slice can only dream of!

Can't say I've tried Kearnes - will see if I can find them!

Definitely not going round to your house for Christmas Dinner, then! I'm uninviting myself. No, don't even try and change my mind. Tough titties, I'm not coming. OUTRAGEOUSLY wrong.
