Come off it. After a month both would have gone off. You need to eat them at least once a week, and in the case of sausages probably twice during the week to avoid clogging the freezer.

I buy mine from a lovely wee local sandwich shop. strawberry float, if I kept the ingredients in the house then the following would be a certainty.

The moderation bit worries me. I often have bacon as a pre workout breakfast and although the saturated fat isn't an issue the bum cancer cells in cured meat thing worries me a bit.

The risk really is minimal for me as I only started eating them a few years ago. And I'm not trying to tempt fate here but I can think of worst ways to get C.

Sausage, easily. Really don’t get the love for bacon.

Bacon but it's close. I have breakfast sandwiches at Greggs all the time but I can never get bacon on its own. It'll usually be bacon and sausage.

I tend to find that a mediocre sausage is more palatable than mediocre bacon. There is a tendency towards undercooked, chewy-fat bacon in hotels, greasy spoons, and places like Greggs, which just turns my stomach. While I like a quality sausage (if that’s not an oxymoron) I do shudder to think what’s in the average breakfast sausage, though I still eat them. Richmond’s are vile though. I can’t believe I used to enjoy them.

I used to love a Jimmy Saveloy, but then I saw a programme that showed what’s in it.

I think a lot of people did, looking back now it seems strange that we didn’t know what was going on, you can tell just by looking at the creepy and wrong pictures. I know the 70s/80s was a different time, but it was just so obvious.

I always thought the problem wasn't what was in it, rather more what it was in.
