Funnily enough, i never really encountered any major bugs like that in the PS4 version, it was just minor irritating things like the missing stuff bug.

Yesterday I had an AI partner suicide on a bonfire for literally no reason (we weren't in combat), which was pretty funny. I think I got a recording of it actually if I check tonight.

The same partner later got stuck under/inside a pier on a lake, with half their body sticking up through the planks.

I also came across a hostage and two enemies, killed the two enemies, started freeing the hostage, when he and the two bodies disappeared and two new enemies + hostage spawned in.

So yeah they are pretty frequent

She was for me at the start. Somehow she took a lesson in badass and was soon able to take down outposts by herself. Give her time.

My Grace currently has about 160 kills, she's great. Just tell her to sit somewhere with a good overlook so she doesn't waste time running around and instead just shoots everyone dead.

I just moved into Whitetail mountains though so I'm trying out Jess/Boomer for a while

Already missing my double sniper combo

Yeah, just doing the same thing. Jess' intro missing is utterly cringeworthy with its potted 'tell don't show' backstory and anticlimactic fight, but she seems like a decent partner. Jacob's region isn't as interesting as Faith's though.

Don't you enjoy walking forwards while listening to a character talk about things?

Still I like her potential to set people on fire lots. She's already done it to the driver of a truck and I'm not sure why seeing someone burst into flames while sat down is so funny, but it is

God looting in this is so ridiculously frustrating.
Most of the time the loot option isn't available but instead the 'take' option to swap your weapons. Looting and taking weapons really need to be different buttons.

Also it's ridiculous that after you clear an outpost all the unlooted enemies just vanish so you lose all the loot.

Yes and yes

Edge called out the shared button for looting/switching weapon and it's 100% one of those tiny things that happen so often they end up being a massive annoyance.

I 100%ed the main game, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

But I didn't much like Hours of Darkness. It managed the remarkable feat of making sneaking through Vietnamese jungle a bit boring. Very linear - although you could technically go anywhere, the sides of the valley funnelled you into a pre-set path. And there was little character interaction.

I preferred Lost on Mars, although it seems I might be in the minority there. More open-world, quite a bit to do, but didn't outstay its welcome. And there was a lot of humour, albeit intentionally low-brow, that made it breezy.

Haven't tried the new zombie DLC yet. It got bad reviews on the Xbox store, but that's because berks were 1-starring it because of a lack of achievements (which have since gone live). "Complete waste of money."

Best of all is how the devs seem to be trolling achievement hunters. The presumably final update has added 195 achievement points, leaving the total a nice uneven 1695. And they've added a single achievement for completing the whole game again in New Game+. Some people are livid about having to play it all again.

Far Cry 5 is free-to-try from tomorrow through Monday on all platforms. It'll also be available on discount in the digital stores, with example pricing being £6.49 for the standard version and £12.99 for the gold edition (PS4 / PS Plus).

I'm tempted to try it out.

Definitely try it out. I skipped Primal and 4 but I had an absolute blast playing 5 last year. I didn't try and complete everything but I had so much fun during the 30-40 hours it took me to get through the very silly story.

£6.49 for the standard version is a great deal, Jawa.

Thanks, Zilnad, and I think I will go for it. It'll be in my backlog, though - and I still have Far Cry 4 to play!

I'll probably get the standard edition for that price. I'm just finishing up FC4 and I can't work out how much I'm enjoying it. There are bits where it feels really amazing, and then other times it feels like the dullest shooter ever. There's just a bit too much time spent making your way to the next mission, and after you've messed with a random group of soldiers a few times already, you just want to get to the mission as quick as you can.

By far and away the highlight so far was the Drug Factory mission. The way the visuals and music worked with the game play on that one was fantastic, and I'd like more of that, so maybe I should go play Blood Dragon. I think I already have it on Xbox.

I didn't get on with FC4 for much the same reasons you mentioned there, but I absolutely loved FC5.

Picked this up in the sale last week. Really enjoying it for the wide open spaces and good gunplay :)

But... The odd glitch here and there. Like when I activated the parachute trying to make a jump:
