PostSchwarzenegger Collection Review

I bought this a few days ago and decided to give it a review.

First time ever reviewing..so that's the excuses over :)

Tell me what you think.

Schwarzenegger Collection :

Whilst looking around HMV the other day, I came across this gem of a boxset and for £8, I couldn’t say no.

The box set contains four of Arnie’s classic films: Predator, The Terminator, Commando and Conan the Barbarian.
As with any Schwarzenegger film, you know what you’re going to get before you watch it. Insane amounts of over the top action and ridiculously cheesy one liners. Awesome.
Predator and The Terminator are clearly the stand out films in this set, with both of them achieving massive global success and creating some of the biggest film series ever.

However, onto the real reason I bought this box set. Commando and Conan the Barbarian.
Commando has Arnie playing the role of John Matrix, an ex special forces colonel now turned doting father. However, when his daughter is kidnapped he must resort back to his old ways, and with the help of a shed full of weapons, kill everyone who had a hand in the kidnapping before they kill his daughter. The ensuing chaos has Matrix killing several hundred people and walking through various shrubbery, bare chested with different guns, seemingly defying the laws of probability by not being hit once.
Probably the most famous scene from this movie is one, ironically, that has zero violence. It does however; go overboard on the 80’s cheese factor. The scenes with Matrix spending quality time with his daughter…what were they thinking.
As with any Schwarzenegger movie, this is chock full of excellent, memorable cheesy one-liners which you can’t help but laugh at.

Onto the last film in the box set,
Conan the Barbarian probably holds the title for least amount of lines said by the main character. Even the ones spoken are barely comprehensible.
However, this does not take away from the fact that the film is simply a masterpiece.
I could go on to explain the details of the plot, but there’s simply too many.
Full of dramatic pauses, voice over’s by a creepy old man, obligatory nude scenes and great fights, this is a must for any fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger action films.

The Schwarzenegger Collection is a great set of films and well worth the (reasonably) small amount. I give it an Awesome/10.

Needs more Total Recall.

I'm not blaming you, I'm just saying it does.

I've got this boxed set!

Always thought Commando was a bit toss. The other films are great though.

Ha. I'm not saying it's bad - just that I didn't think much of it. Mind you I haven't seen it since I was 14, maybe it's aged well.

Still, I'd find it difficult to see how it'd be in the same league as Terminator or Predator.

 Commando is awesome.

I sent the review into my uni magazine and it's getting printed, so that's cool.

It's been edited to only the Commando review part though :( Whole thing was too long apparently.

Ach well.

I read the screenplay for Commando 2 the other day. I had to stop. It was a trainwreck.
