Seems odd that it's Unionists who started it (from what I can tell). They got the result they wanted so no idea why they're starting gooseberry fool, talk about kicking people when they're down.

Are they going to replace Salmond with Sturgeon straight away or do you think they'll need some time to mullet over?

Going by the "We are the people" comment and the colours they're all wearing, I am going to say that it is indeed the Orange Lodge crowd making idiots of themselves. As usual.

On the One Show:

Alex Evans: This afternoon Alex Salmond has resigned, how do you feel about that.
John Hannah: I think, David Cameron... it would be nice for him to follow suit.

*awkward silence followed by awkward laughter then cheers from behind the cameras*

Not often you see winners of a vote riot (not painting anyone with the same brush here).

George Square latest

Posted at 19:23

It is very tense in the square. It has calmed down a bit but is still very tense.
Both sides have been throwing things, the police are in the middle trying to keep both sides apart.
One side is singing Flower of Scotland and the other is singing Rule Britannia.

They would have been out for trouble no matter what happened, any excuse to flout their bigotry and they will. Makes my skin crawl to share a planet with these people never mind a country, a city! I respect those who are staying out of it because it must take a lot of self control not to confront people like that.

Was hoping for a Yes vote. Wanted to cripple the Labour party and see if Scotland would fail or succeed in the short term and longer term.

I do like the talk of a more federal UK that has resulted, smaller more representative government and different levels of taxation resulting in pressure for all regions to drive down taxes sounds good to me.

What's going on there?

People who voted to stay with Britain are ripping a flag off a girl who voted for independence?

Who knows if they even registered to vote, I don't want to label them as the no side because they're not. Idiot loyalists that respond to anyone who opposes them with intimidation.

The irony of loyalists is that most of Britain would love to be rid of them,

The girl in that vine takes the flag off that guy first does she not? edit - eh maybe not but it looks like it was around his waist. Either way that part of the city centre is an embarrassment right now. You can always count on the bigots to embarrass Glasgow on an international basis.

I think she was trying to take back what was hers. I'm pretty sure with sound someone also says "grab her phone!".

Yeah you are right. Cretins. Thankfully the rest of the city centre seems quite peaceful if rather sombre.
