That video kind of forgets to mention the multiplayer, which is where MK64 wins without question.

I re-played DKR a few months ago on emulator. I got almost to the end of adventure two in less than a week IIRC, which is pretty amazing considering when I had it on the N64 years ago I never even reached the first Wizpig race.
Great game, love it to bits.

The time trials are still impossible for me now, though.

You know about the green boosts, yeah? You let let go of the accelerator just before using activating a boost. It gives you a slightly prolonged boost which over the course of three laps can help significantly. Also the more bananas you collect the greater your top speed becomes.

You pretty much have to do that to beat the first Wizpig. Way harder than the 2nd one IMO.

I made a trollscience comic about it when I did my epic replay last winter.

ALso people forget that you need to keep it released until you get the smoke in order for the boost to be actually more effective than the regular one.

Nay. Never bothered. Myself and Rex McGee did a speed run of the game a few years back though, finished at around 3hrs 30 (all amulet pieces, all trophies, etc).

I see you and raise you

Man, I loved this game.

I never owned MK64, but for me this was much more enjoyable, due to the proper single player mode.

Great tracks, characters, music...superb. One of the reasons I love(d) the N64.

This was the first game I got for N64. I loved it back then, but I'd imagine it hasn't aged too well (much like the majority of Rare's output on the 64).
