I have game pass too so I’ll probably give it a try this week. I have a feeling it’s going to get boring pretty quick though with micro transactions out the wazoo but hopefully I can be proven wrong

They’ve done a really good job at advertising this though. I got an email from topcashback about a cashback deal for this (20% with Argos or something) so that might be worth looking in to @meep as I think you might be able to cross play it?

It’s up on Game Pass.

I'm downloading it from the Microsoft Store on my laptop at the moment via Gamepass, will probably give it a try tomorrow.

There’s no micro transactions, in a few months they are adding pets that you pay for, nothing else.

It’s entirely cross play.

Left it downloading overnight so looking forward to playing it once I get in from work. Though I fully expect the servers to gooseberry fool the bed round about that time just to spite me.

We'll get to see how useful those multiple stress tests were. Plus the US will still be at work. Reckon it'll be OK.

It had a few issues state side last night going by tweets but rest of the world seemed fine.

I think the tests just pointed to how fast they can react to problems. No doubt Rare has people who've been up 24hrs frantically spinning up servers and on the phone to MS support. :lol:

Yeah hopefully there won't be too many (If any) issues later on. Liked the look of this for a while now so should be fun.

I don't think I 'get' this game.
I didn't participate in any betas and basically went in blind after getting the game through Gamepass, but I've started it up, picked a pirate and....now what? Is there no actual single player element to this? Is the only way to play that you get dumped into a game with random people or friends? I started up a game, it seemed to put me into a game with 2 random people whom I didn't see, then I wandered around for a bit, eventually figured out that I could get a 'voyage' from someone. Figured out I need to swim way out to some merman thing to return to my ship, climb aboard and I can put a voyage down on the table, then I can 'vote' for it, and then nothing happens.

Is there any kind of tutorial or anything in the game? Or does it just throw you in at the deep end with a 'off you go' attitude that explains nothing?

I think it's very obvious that you can play on your own... If you boot up a game on your own you'll figure it all out pretty fast. Pick a sloop.

tbh you're not the first person to have this problem so maybe it's an issue. I still think it's hard to miss the fact you can pick a smaller ship. The flip side of it not telling you everything is that it leaves you discover things yourself. A few minutes on your own boat will teach you the basics.
