Might be worth having a look in the Insider Hub app, in case you've been invited but the email didn't come through.

Spent almost entire day playing this in a small boat on my own. It’s uttery utterly brilliant, you can get away from big ships if you adjust your sail. The storms are lethal though and they move, was on an island looking for teasure and a storm was in distance, by time I figured out the clues it was over the island, rain, lightning and the waves, Jaysus, I barely made it out, had to fix holes and bail water to stay afloat. It’s easily the best looking game on X1, stunning.

I have this on pre-order and I'm really looking forward to it.
I wonder what upgrades the OX will get as while I want upgrades I also don't want to get an advantage in any pvp or multiplayer pve stuff just because I have one as that would seem to be hugely unfair. Faster loading times maybe?

I will be pretty much renewing xbox live just for this as all my other multiplayer games will stay on ps4.

Native 4K, you’d have no advantage really.

Finally. Still not super hopeful it'll be brilliant, but it'll be good to actually play it.

Put another several hours into this on my solo boat over the weekend, still as gorgeous as ever and coming across another small ship is fun, was chased by 2 lads on a ship so went to a nearby fort (they fire cannons at ships from the island) and both boats were half destroyed, we both limped away in different Directions and I barely managed to stay afloat repairing and bailing non stop for about 10minutes. I've gotten a fair bit of gold, the riddles are really hard though or not fair. One mentioned finding something that wasn't really described with zero directions across 3 islands, I mean FFS. I suppose 2-4 folk would have a faster time looking but still, while running around the island your ship is at the mercy of any passing folk who can rock up and sink it so your'e always paranoid, especially when alone cos no one on ship to keep lookout.

If you’re wondering when we’ll hear something new about Sea of Thieves, the answer is “very soon,” as shared today by Xbox Games Marketing General Manager Aaron Greenberg during Microsoft’s Extra Life marathon on Mixer.

Greenberg mentioned that he “definitely encourages people to tune-in for The Game Awards” as there will be “some more news on Sea of Thieves there.”

Game Awards show starts 1.30am on Friday. Release date? Open Beta date? Progression details?

Release date and progression system were confirmed to be shared by the end of the year a couple of weeks ago.

Also, I have the feeling it’ll release early enough next year. Maybe the end of February.
