That character generation idea is brilliant. Really impressed with the level of detail Rare have put into this game. Looking forward to giving it a whirl day one (thanks Game Pass!)

Rare made the point that in many other games of this nature, players often simply stick with the default skin.

Wonder who they've polled to come up with that. Bit awkward as they're the guys behind the Xbox character creator, too. Is that why Avatar 2.0 hasn't materialised yet? They don't think anyone actually bothers?

Just read the Eurogamer preview, this game sounds INCREDIBLE.

This is the first Xbox One game I’ve see in awhile that has genuinely made me stop and think “wow I’d love to play that”. Not enough to get an Xbox, but it does look brilliant.

90% of the new info released today wasn’t in the Beta or Alpha.

I'll check it out.

You should, the base game is locked down, its great to play and is easily one of Xbox Ones best looking games but the worry from others and from myself was how the progression system would work, a month ago we got that info, but then that concern changed to what we could do in the final game and now that's been fleshed out.

I have a feeling, if they get this right that SoT's could be rather big. It's really doing something different to Destiny, The Division, ESO, Ark, Monster Hunter and all the other online or mmo games on console. The grind is gone, its not totally gone of course, it depends how you define grinding but you have no level to aspire to, no magic number. I was talking with one of my mates who doesn't game that much and this appeals to him a lot because he feels he gets left behind in other online games, I feel the same. I think only MHW will keep me going along side this because its bonkers.

I'd happily play this alone on my sloop but now that you can do that, then join a galleon with others on the fly is brilliant. I mean we can have 1 night a week for Grcade SoT's potentially and the rest progress on our own quest lines then bring a harder quest for all to play on the grcade night. It's so simple it's genius. Also as the flagship game for gamepass' new iteration it doesn't have loot boxes which is what everyone jumped onto when exclusives joined it but it does have a premium store launching late this year,to be honest, if we can have a grcade monkey on board for all to play with (or parrot, or cat) then I think I'd be ok stumping up the extra money. :toot:

If I see anyone with a monkey, I will shoot them in the face, even if they're on my crew.

Putting monkey owners in the brig is a perfectly legitimate strategy.

Not all microtransactions are loot boxes and the source article has a quote that confirms that this applies to Sea of Thieves.
...you'll always know what you're getting - so that means no loot crates."

This sounds more interesting than it seemed when it was first revealed. I didn't get a chance to play the beta but I might pick this up on PC one day if it gets a good reception after launch.
