Seeing as we booted Catholicism out hundreds of years ago, I am not sure why she thinks the Pope would have much influence on us.

He could cause lots of trouble in Latin America though.

True, but I don't see the other Latin American countries wanting to get too involved. Hopefully the recent vote will have given the other nations an idea of the strength of feeling of the Falklanders.

I knew this was coming. I called it as soon as the pope was elected. The annoying thing is in the past this pope has said that Britain usurped the Falklands.

If the Pope takes a public stance on the Falklands (pre-papacy views don't count), I can just see Cameron getting on TV and ranting about "this is why we had the reformation" and suchlike.

Could we not organise a pay-per-view fight between the Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury? Last man standing gets to decide the Falklands issue once and for all. :datass:

I'd pay so much money to see the Archbishop strawberry float up the Pope's gooseberry fool.

We could set The Queen on him with her knighting sword.

You don't need to watch the whole thing, I've only watched 3 minutes so far, but the American position on the Falklands given their history combined with this response is just embarrassing.

Also worth watching:

Smug strawberry floating banana split. I hate it when he mentions Nether Wallop. If HS2 was going to destroy Nether Wallop then it wouldn't be built, simple, dickhead. It is not in Britain's best interests to bend over and take it up the buthole, it's not in our best interests to give up massive oil deposits and it's in the Islanders best interests to do what THEY want.
