Nothing holds a candle to Chrono Trigger in terms of Square SNES output. Nothing.

I've always though it was overrated too. Despite starting it several times I've never made it to the end as I always get bored of if before long.

I did actually discard the multiplayer aspect of this game. That usually does improve the experience. I played it on my own, and I did enjoy it somewhat, just not that I think it's one of the best games on the system. The last boss on the floating fortress was awesome looking.

The music sounds identical to the SNES version!

I saw a offscreen photo of someone playing it at PAX and it looked better than the trailer footage *and* the direct feed footage above :? Mostly because it didn't have the washed out feel to it. Wish I'd posted it in here but can't seem to find it now.

The scrolling looks very jerky.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

Artistically it's awful.

£32.99  Wow. I wasn't gonna buy it on launch anyway, but at that price it's gonna have to be a *deep* sale cut before I play it.

This game was an obsession for me over the couple of months it took to work through it. But I didn'5 understand about levelling when I started playing it, so ended up spending hours grinding outside the village that had the cheapest hotel so I could level up my magic to take on the final boss. Pretty sure that took up a significant amount of the '100 hours' playtime boasted about on the back of the box. The remake is a bit underwhelming visually, and it looks like the voice acting has put paid to being able to assign your own names to the hero and allies. Boo!

Did anyone ever play this? It can be had for under £20 and I did like the look of it.

I hope they patched it combat was a joke with most attacks missing even with your high level characters.
