Just can’t get excited for the Mega Drive any more. How many more times will they release the same ol guff that we know we be part of a collection like this?

Atleast there seems to be a bit more effort on Nintendo’s part in Eartbound and Starfox 2.

Only took them a few decades though.

Is that confirmed, Qikz? Someone posted this above - based on a previous comment from Sega - but I don't think we know for sure?

It's now sort of confirmed
twitter.com/ATGFlashback/status/985158110837911552
So it's not the exact same At Games flashback model that's currently on sale, but it's still an At Games unit.

The...the latest AtGames technology...
...that's a phrase that was conveyed with unironic pride ._.

I have one of the old AT Games Megadrives its one with like 40 sega games on it and then a cartridge with an additional 40 stupid shovelware games on it, I got it boxed complete for £15 and in honesty at that price it was about right.... If you dont own a megadrive and just want to play a little bit of sonic or shove some kids in front of it then its a passable unit, its output kinda looks nicer than a megadrive down the old rfu cable but rubbish compared to a real megadrive with scart. With the built in games there are the occasional minnor issues but its once you get past the built in games and try carts that you find some games run like utter dog mess. Its ok if you spend like £15 but when there are shops in my local shopping center asking for like £79.99 for one (it is a slightly newer one than mine with 80 games on it) then your just better off getting a real megadrive and a everdrive.
http://powerupgaming.co.uk/2016/10/31/limited-edition-sega-mega-drive-with-sd-card-slot-to-launch-in-2017/I dont know if these ever came out but they looked fairly decent and I thought it would be cool to get one..
Hey at least these Japanese AT Games machines actually look like megadrives the one I have just looks like a cheap piece of crap

So this is just a new AtGames model?
Pass. How disappointing.

Nope. If anyone can find a link to the hedgehog the hedgehog music running on these things, that's why you don't want to touch ATgames emulation, it's arse. Why can't Sega find a partner that respects it's heritage, it's really embarrassing as instead of preserving anything or making it accessible they're just collecting a fee.

What I fail to understand is that mega drive emulation has been solved. Genesis Plus GX sounds fine and can run on a toaster.

They sound like they're in minor key
Rather unsettling honestly...

Good God, that's strawberry floating awful. Think I'll just stick some Megadrive games on my SNES Mini.

Thing is the hardware of the most recent one was pretty decent. It's the software side that completely let it down.

I thought the sound reproduction issues had been resolved with more recent Atgames releases?

Erkal has a lot to answer for.
Anyway, most people don't seem to be bothered about sound quality these days (probably why beats headphones sell so well) and it really irritates me, part of the appeal of 8 and 16 bit games is the midi music and if that isn't up to standard then it dilutes the overall experience.
