The load times were bad but it beat paying £200 a game

I had some that came with the machine which was second hand, most I had on CD. I don't remember buying any games "new" on cartridge at least. We had an indie shop called Game Crazy in Willenhall that traded the games between owners so I got most from there.

It was a different generation :fp:

Duh, but looking back the Dreamcast had way more 'timeless' games. The Saturn just had a few cult classics. Also Sega's decision to go with quads rather than triangles for rendering was a tad... strange.

I think I knew one person with a Saturn whilst pretty much everyone at school had a Playstation. The N64 made some headway with the rich kids thanks to GoldenEye and to prove some things never change, my PC owning mates would continually boast about the superiority of their Pentium 2, 3DFX setup for Quake 2.

i was that kid :fp:

I knew two people with Saturns. But they were each at a different schools.

Obviously the people of Playr2.com like their Neo Geo's.

Lego Grand Theft Auto... You KNOW you would buy it.

I hadn't even heard of the Sega Saturn until I came to GR. Neither had any of my friends. We just assumed that Sega had skipped half a generation to launch the Dreamcast instead. :fp:

It's not like I hated Sega or anything, as I had a MD the previous generation. If I had heard about the Saturn I might have been swayed, but then there was some kind of electronic entertainment fair or whatever, and they had a few N64s with Mario running on them.
Maybe I should be glad that Sega's marketing was so gooseberry fool. :shifty:

I was ten when the N64 launched, so reading English gaming magazines was out of the question. Especially as they're more than double the price up here. :fp:

Can't remember any ads either. There cannot have been very many, as my friends were ignorant of its existence as well. :?
