Strange Crash

I've got a problem, my ps3 seem to do a strange freeze when i try to quit a ps2 (FF12 in this case) game it hangs on the please wait screen. if i press the ps button i go back to the game which has crashed but i still can press the ps button to try and quit but nothing happens. i try to force a shutdowd but it hangs there as well, i switch off and on from the back and it fires up with no trouble and no error messages, quitting ps3/psn games doesn't cause any problems.

any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: just tested with KH2 and it did the same, I suspect the BC has glitched somehow i'm on FW4.0 and it's been fine except for this which only happened a few days ago

Sorry, yes it is, it's a 60gb ps3fat with 320gb harddrive
