Selling Wii Console

Hi guys,

I'm planning on getting rid of my old Wii console and getting the Wii U when Mario Kart 8 comes out. What happens to the virtual content I downloaded such as old SNES games? I take it these can't be transferred over? Will the buyer of my old console be able to play the games I downloaded to it?

You can transfer your Virtual Console games to your Wii U and play them on the Wii U via its Wii mode. Details on everything that can and cannot be transferred may be found here:

If you don't transfer your content to the Wii U, the new buyer will be able to use it unless you format the console.
