When it's the Tories that look weak on law and order you know they're having a rotten campaign.

If the Conservatives get the same or slimmer majority on Friday then I wouldn't be surprised if May's gone by Christmas. She's been shown up here as a wooden actress trying to play the role of Margaret Thatcher. Is this where Boris sneaks his way in...

Important info. Glad your friend survived those popcorn-infested waters. The things he must have seen... I hope he wasn't too traumatised by film trailers that revealed too much. We must stamp out marketing extremism as a top priority. #PrayForMoggy'sFriend

It was touch and go but I'm sure his Franky and Benny's lasagna afterwards helped cheer him up after the horrors he saw.

As long as the Tories don't win the election then I'm happy for Boris to be leader of the opposition. 5 years of Boris being at the absolute front of a party with nowhere to hide? :toot:

I think given recent performances it'll almost certainly be Amber Rudd.

Why was the culture secretary even being quizzed in that anyway? Was she there to talk about something else and got ambushed with those questions? Or is Amber Rudd practicing for Prime Minister by avoiding the media?

I'm starting to hope that May won't last long after this. This election has been an absolute disaster, u-turns, not showing up to debates with a shitty excuse and past failings brought up by recent terror attacks. She is looking incredibly weak. A total cock up for what should have been an easy fight.

The EU must be laughing their tits off at this. Calls an election to get strength, ends up pissing that away. Brexit is going to be hilarious.

If she wins this election and there are more terrorist attacks she's going to keep coming under fire for her police cuts. I just don't see this going away. If Brexit goes badly too, the Conservatives will be on pretty shaky ground next election. Looking like you've failed on security and the economy would be a bad mix.

Jesus Christ, Rightey. :dread: You're surely better than this. Do I need to post my Big List Of Non-Muslim Terrorist Groups again?

Corbyn has just called on May to resign as PM over police cuts while she was Home Secretary

Think this will backfire for him pretty badly, it's the wrong approach.

I dunno, he needs to do something to claw enough votes to beat her. As it is he has been painted as a weak terrorist sympathiser whereas May and the Tories are promoting themselves as strong and stable guardians of law and order. Getting the message out that she cut police numbers and left us vulnerable is not necessarily a bad idea.

Although I just heard that he's saying he is being misquoted.

Corbyn: the type of guy who takes one step forward only for his other leg to then fall off.

The Conservatives will still come out top though :fp:

However I will look forward to Friday morning, watching Theresa May's resignation speech while I eat my granola.

Yeah, I think this could be more tactical than it seems. He risks looking a bit petty and point-scoring, but more people will hear about her terrible tenure as Home Secretary. The gamble is that she will lose more votes from the latter than he will from the former.

Has he been misquoted? What did he specifically say?

What is the reality though. On paper a 20,000 cut in police and then 3 attacks in 3 months does seem eye opening, but can that really even be partly blamed?

It does seem fascinating though that in 2010 all major parties pledged that "front line services will not be cut" and the truth is they very much have been cut across the whole front line, NHS, Police, Fire etc.

If 's true that the attackers were reported by members of the public then there should be questions asked about whether the police had the resources to follow up these leads.
