If this thread is anything to go by the game isn't going to sell that well. Although it's about the fifth most popular game on steam but nobody I know has bought it.

Well I bought it and so far it's...ok There are a couple of mechanics that I really hate such as reloading, sprinting and ironsights. The very fact that you have to reload the shotgun is very disappointing, as it looses that Serious Sam feeling of just slamming your finger on the mouse one button and strafing like strawberry float when the monster mobs appear. It's early doors yet so perhaps it'll get better and what i've played so far is better than Serious Sam 2, so that's a bonus.

Played a bit more of this and i'm actually warming to this quite a bit. Once you get over the reload mechanic it actually becomes quite fun.
Anyway Eurogamer reviewed this and gave it a 7/10

One to wait till it's in sales, then?

I still have First Encounter and Second Encounter to play through anyway, by time I'm done with them I'll pick this one up for cheap price :shifty:

Serious Sam 3. Initial hesitations to this has turned to pure love. This game is strawberry floating ace! This is what Duke Nukem Forever should have been like. The lines are cheesy, but the game knows it, however the action is top notch. If you loved any of the past games then get this. It's great.

Croteam really do seem to have knocked it out of the park and no one has noticed.

Uh I would get this but I have so many other things to play. :fp:

From the trailers and everything it looks amazing, and since you're talking about dialog I assume it also has a good single player (something missing from a lot of other recent FPS's)

I was confused by that too

Will pick this up in Xmas sales, hearing your "It's what Duke Nukem Forever should have been" comment has given this positive light.

this is of steam

Pure Multiplayer Mayhem – Drop the gauntlet and let the heavy ordinance fly in incredible versus modes like Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Last Team Standing and My Burden. This is the next level of Serious Sam multiplayer and all hell is about to break loose!

sure sounds like multiplayer

It's like the original Half Life. There's multiplayer, but most of the time you're going to be playing single player. It's not like Brink, for example.

Croteam have come up with a genius way to combat people pirating SS3

Those thinking of pirating Serious Sam 3 may wish to reconsider, unless they want to be dogged constantly by a giant, pink, invincible scorpion. According to reports, the DRM in the game is said giant scorpion, and it cannot be killed. It only appears in pirated versions of the game, and will be your constant, deadly nemesis from the moment you boot up the game. A video of the DRM in action is posted below, which will save you the trouble of pirating the game just to see how it works.
