gooseberry fool I used to LOVE the Commandos series, still got them installed on Steam. Might have to revisit, it's been a while.

Oh my god, this is exactly the game I thought/hoped it would be. I've only done the first mission, but it's absolutely fantastic so far. The badges are going to add a lot of replay value, and also encourage achieving things in different ways ("no sniper kills" is going to make that first mission so much harder!).

The entirely manual camera does take a little getting used to, but the whole game works just fine with a controller.

im up to the 5th mission, and yeah im excited at the prospect of going back through and trying to get the 'badges' - i couldnt work out if the three challenges at the bottom of the mission complete screen are also special 'badges' or if theyre just optional things to try...

edit: just had a look and these 'extras' dont show up on the badges screen when you go to replay a mission so i can only assume theyre included as badges, just they separated out for aesthetic reasons on the mission complete screen

Not yet, I've only just started Elite: Dangerous so everything else is on the back burner for the time being.

Just bumping this, as the PC version is currently available for free for Amazon/Twitch Prime members, so hopefully a few more people will get to try it.
