Great to hear they're bringing them to modern consoles, shame the Switch has been left out (E3 or Ninty Direct may amend this though), are these games similar to the Yakuza franchises or not?

They've up-rezed the game but the background and character textures look blurry and dated. Perhaps it would have been equivalent to remaking it.

Shenmue 1 & 2 Pricing Revealed, Achievements Confirmed on All Platforms

Shenmue 1 & 2 pricing has been confirmed for the North American release, with players able to pick up the "definitive version" of both games for $29.99. It's also been confirmed the title will support achievements across all platforms.

YouTuber Adam Koralik shared the details on and in a video following his trip to SEGA in Japan. "I'm now allowed to inform you of the retail price of the Shenmue 1 and 2 re-release," he tweeted. "$29.99 USD gets you the collection. Applies to all US versions. Global pricing will reflect similar pricing in local currencies."

In his YouTube update, Koralik confirmed the game will support achievements across the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions.

The re-release of Shenmue and Shenmue 2 was announced last week, and while SEGA didn't go into the specifics of what kind of graphical enhancements we can expect, it called the release the "definitive version" of both games, that will include an updated UI, the choice of modern or classic controls, and both English and Japanese voiceovers.

The console versions will get both a digital and retail release, while PC players will be get a digital-only release on Steam.

Shenmue 3 was announced at E3 2015, and is being published by Deep Silver. The game is set for release in the second half of 2018.

I hope they will announce the release date at E3 and it would be good if it's coming before September to avoid some busy gaming schedule.
