Sega pretty much used their Shenmue template when developing the first Yakuza title.

A few years ago all i wanted was shenmue remakes, shenmue 3, majoras mask remake, ff7 remake and more yakuza games being translated for the west.

I think my gaming days will be over once the shenmue saga is complete.

I thought i would be gaming forever, but feel that it’s come to an end for me. Once ryo ends his fight so do i.

I’m quite a nostalgic person and love replaying games from yesteryear and the recent trend of remakes and remasters just makes me even happier. Games like majoras mask were never completed on their original console, so it was satisfying to play it in a better state and actually complete it.

Looking forward to these since I'm a mega Yakuza fan so I'm confident I will really enjoy them. I had the original Dreamcast versions of Shenmue 1&2 back when I was a more hardcore gaming collector but like so many things, I sold them off without ever playing them. When they announced Shenmue 3, I was waiting for the originals to get re-released so I'm chuffed that it is happening.

This just seems odd to me as gaming is like reading in that there is no end so why stop?
I can understand if you've decided that certain genre's are now behind you but gaming has so many aspects that there's really no need to completely stop.
