The price suggestion is $29.99.

So, it means we might see £30 in here.

When you're strolling through Dobuita at dusk in the rain with the subtle music playing you'll get it

Even more so when doing it in the snow and hearing a christmassy version of the same subtle music.

I must have played through the first game at least a dozen times, back in 2000 there really was nothing else like it.

My memories of Shenmue was going to my local HMV (remember them?!) and at the back of the store in the video game section they had a counter and small TV with either the Dreamcast or a video playing the Shenmue trailer on loop enticing you to preorder. The story of a cool young man going on a personal and actual journey seemed to really connect to me. I did get a Dreamcast for a short couple of days at the beginning of 2001, it was discounted and I had Sonic Adventure but I ended taking it back. Then I played a bit of Shenmue 2 on the original Xbox. Random memory over - I really want to play these games!

I couldn't find the sailors and gave up. I'll get it again and be less useless.

Probably not, as the Yakuza series is hell lot better. My guess is that it’s really for the fans like me.

This is good news as I never finished Shenmue 2.

New people to the series are going to be in for quite a shock I think. The English voice acting is some of the worst I’ve heard, can’t stand for it. The new time mechanics may help some of the slowness too. Be interested to see what the new control scheme is like as well. I’m hyped simply because we simply don’t Games like this much anymore, let alone good Sega games.

Every response Ryu gives with the English voice over is "I see".

That day huh?

I remember being totally immersed in the first game, I'd never played anything like it. My mum even sat and watched me play it for a bit (she really turned her nose up at games) as she thought it looked amazing and even went to get dad to come and see what I was playing. I believed that world so much, the house was real, I felt bad for blowing my allowance down the arcades :shifty:

I don't think newcomers to the series will think much of it really, it's probably very dated in all ways, but I'll buying it for a massive nostalgia hit.

Anyone want to buy my dreamcast copy?..

I hear the Yakuza games are good.

The town the first game takes place in is a real place and was so faithfully recreated in the game that people who had played the game and visited the town already knew their way around despite having never actually visited before.

Got £60 for both in CEX, probably be less than half that when they update their online prices.

I'd be very interested in picking these up, but I'll probably wait for a sale on PC, as I won't be going in with the nostalgia some clearly have, and don't want to spend full whack on something that's not aged well.

Hopefully, though, this is the start of the slew of Sega ports they've been talking about for a while. I'm dying to get my hands on the Yakuza series on PC.
