That's true.. I wonder if they'll hire authentically terrible voice actors.

A trusted source close to Atlus USA, today revealed to me that Shenmue HD Remaster will be released this year. Both games, Episodes 1 & 2, may be released together rather than separately. They are presumably being geared up for launch to precede Shenmue 3, which could possibly slip into 2018

I dunno if I read this rumour correctly, but it quoted the anonymous Atlus source as saying they're not, for the moment, planned for anything but PC. :?

Fantastic new if true. I highly doubt we will see shenmue 3 until xmas 2018, but 2 remasters to play over a year will be very nice!

The only things i request are analogue controls, less loading times and for it to be in full hd/ widescreen.

I hope this means we will get Shenmue HD in between. I doubt mid 2018 is even realistic at this point.

I hope so.

I don't mind if they need some more time to develop on Shenmue III and I'd rather to have a quality game to play than an unfinished product.

Happy to wait if it means the final product is better, but they need to get the remasters out sharpish.

I backed this and not surprised with the delay. Are the remasters expected at E3?

I am raging that the game that isnt coming to a console I dont own is taking longer to come out than they said it would when they launched their kickstarter. This is totally unacceptable and they should feel bad.

Fingers crossed, I want as many people as possible to experience the original (with fixed controls).

Late 2018? I wouldn't be surprised if it'll end up being delayed to 2019.

Yup. What's another few years wait for a game people have spent *16 years* waiting for.

Deep Silver have published a lot of stuff for Sega partners lately haven't they? Not a huge surprise, but glad to hear they've got a reliable publisher in board.

I'm still holding out hope for a Shenmue I / II HD announcement this year. I never actually played Shenmue II back in the day, so I'd quite like to fill in that gap before III launches.
