YS Net revealed a new character in Shenmue III designed by Lakshya Digital. Ys Net also announced a collaboration with Lakshya digital as they'll help in introducing more characters.

Regarding the new character:
We gave a first look of this character earlier. You’ll have to wait and see how she fits in with the temple in the background.

This is what Ys Net said about the collaboration:
Shenmue III will have a host of new, compelling characters from all walks of life.

And while we can’t say just how many, it will be a lot! The game art studio Lakshya Digital will be cooperating with us to bring these great characters to life. Lakshya Digital is based in Gurgaon (one of India’s financial and technology hubs) and has studios in Pune and Seattle, where production work for the game is underway.

Would like to see that as video footage to see if it has any signs of life. Model looks good as it is, though.

*Thanks to the consoles he wanted to make a game without these limitations. So he started working on an RPG for the Saturn.
*He wanted to tell a long story. And when the Dreamcast came out they needed a "killer title." Role that has been entrusted to Shenmue.
*Making a RPG out of nothing is a long, resource-intensive process and initially used Virtua Fighter as a base.
*In addition, Virtua Fighter had an already established combat system, which was convenient.
*As he wanted to make a RPG, he started playing other games of the genre.
*While playing, he realized that this type of game was stressing him. He wanted to create a game that he could play more easily.
*He felt that having face-to-face talking with characters in traditional RPGs was compelling. He therefore wanted to create a more flexible system.
*For Shenmue, the story was very important. So before developing the game, he wrote a book in which the story was written. This story has not changed since this original writing.
*This book is not kept in a safe but in a computer.
*Shenmue 1 was small enough for an open world. So he wanted a bigger world with more characters in Shenmue 2.
*It was with Virtua Fighter 2 that realized that 3D could be interesting from the point of view of business (yes they left on the arcade for some reason).
*Yu Suzuki recalls that he does not play much video games and that he is inspired by the news and his personal experiences to create his games.
*He likes driving a lot. But he does not mean if he drives like in Outurn not to be pinched.

*For Outrun he came to Europe to research and it is a red Ferrari seen in front of the Monaco casino that gave him the idea of the racing car.
*He thinks that it is always possible to innovate in video games. Meanwhile, I feel the fans of Shenmue losing patience ...
*He explains that he hates the position of producer in the creation of a video game.
*When you are a producer you take care of the non-creative side: budget, schedule, etc. And there are always conflicts with the creative part represented by the director.
*He explains that holding both positions at the same time is very difficult.
*His roles are varied as a director: to say that Ryo can not move or speak in a certain way, etc.
*Shenmue III is happening in China in 1987 so he has to study the country of that time and determine things like the price of a can in China at this point in history.
*To work on the game, what was important for him was finding people who knew and loved Shenmue. He likes people who offer things.
*For him, a key position is that of programmer. He was himself a programmer at the origin. Knowing the Unreal Engine 4 is very important too.
*He thinks he has a very good team right now.

Clearly the old man is choking on a dumpling and Ryu is about to slap that strawberry floater back up.
