Wonder if Shenmue makes an appearance at E3 next week, be good to see a HD collection of the original 2 games

Despite interest from both fans and Sega itself, the holdup lies with the games' scope, their age - the original Shenmue was released on Dreamcast back in 1999 - as well as licensing issues.
"The issue is that it is a big game. It is a project from many years ago," Sega Europe boss told MCV.
"If we are to do it, we'd want to do a fantastic conversion to the current platforms, and there are a lot of licences in the game, which were cleared many years ago, so we will need to renegotiate those contracts."

I just hope the HD version of 2 comes with the English dub as well that the Xbox got, rather than the Japanese only version the Dreamcast had.

It had subtitles, but I agree - English spoken would be better.

Really no. The English dub was terrible, even if it wasn't though you are almost always better off going with the original language and subtitles than having a dubbed version into English.

In some cases you get better atmospherics as well because they don't bother doing post processing on the English dub. Hopefully it'll be good but irl nobody speaks English in China/Japan.

Isn't the second game set in Hong Kong though? Where a ton of people speak English?
